i would guess the next step is putting together a staff.

wouldn't be surprised if Ewing or someone else on the team becomes the HC, i believe two or three of them have coached in the d-league before

Is that considered a demotion? If so then why would they agree to that?

Who on Earth would pay $65 to see a D-League game? Even the cheapest seats $7 are more expensive than what I paid for my season tix for 7 years for the Bobcats (paid $5 per seat).

Yeah the fact that there is even a $65 option is insane. Doesn't matter whether it's upper level or courtside....why would anyone pay that much for the D League?

For $65 I'd expect to be able to get some shots up.

Just for the heck of it, here's the job posting for the HC slot and what they're looking for:

Maybe this is a dumb question, but what does HSE stand for?

"Hornets Sports & Entertainment"

I think that's the official name of the organization. At least going by the NBA press release:

Does anyone know when they'll start filling out the roster?

3 new teams are being added to the D-League this year - Greensboro Swarm, Windy City Bulls and Long Island Nets.

First thing that will happen is an expansion draft

http://dleaguedigest.com/2016/03/25/expansion-comes-growing-pains/

In most recent years, brand new D-League teams like the Delaware 87ers, Westchester Knicks, and the Raptors 905 all participated in their own expansion draft. While each team joined the fold in consecutive seasons, there is a challenge that comes with three teams joining the mix all at once.

It’s unclear if the parameters will change for this year’s expansion draft, but in previous seasons the following criteria were met.

Existing D-League teams could protect the player rights for up to 12 players, anyone else not protected is fair game.
The expansion team selects 16 available players to either establish a roster of their own, or as previously mentioned, develop assets for future trades and transactions.

What’s likely to happen is there will be a single expansion draft for all three teams, with 48 players selected overall. This makes it especially important for teams to do their due diligence when it comes to selecting the players they want to protect.

In 2014 the D-League expansion draft was not held until September.

It might be a while before we start to see the roster taking shape.

$65 lol, I would legitimately think that was family of 4 with drinks, popcorn, autographed ball prices.

But i like the cheerleader option as well

Over/under on duke, unc, ncsu alums for first year? I'll set it at 3.5 maybe even sneak a high point androws or page grad on there and do it right

Looks like sections A through E are about 10 to 15 dollars high, in my opinion. Looks like i'll be hitting section G.
