I think I'm one of the few fans of Corey Brewer but I would have to agree that I don't think he's a great fit here. We need capable defenders that can shoot on the wing.

Okay, I've got another idea. You guys don't really need Koufos, so he seems like an obvious trade candidate for a 3 and D wing. Courtney Lee is an unrestricted free agent, so he can go wherever he wants. But I don't think it's farfetched that he would be interested in signing with you guys now that you have his old coach. Since he's unrestricted it would have to be a sign and trade. But the benefit for you guys is that you would replace Koufos' contract with Lee's and have more cap space left over to either pay Rondo or go after a better power forward.

I do like Courtney Lee and really hope he signs here, that's a guy I really want, but unrestricted means we can sign him outright without a sign and trade so unless we just didn't want Koufos on the books there would be no need to do that. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I totally could be, but I think with UFA isn't there a time period before they can be traded after they're signed so it wouldn't be able to happen anyway? Not 100% on how all that works though. Koufos is definitely expendable in my opinion though.

Jeremy Lin, on the other hand, I would be interested in for a sign and trade with Koufos.

S&T Koufus for Lee. Let Rondo walk. Go after Ryan Anderson who would start at PF with Willie playing 3rd big off the bench at PF/C.

That would be a nice summer. I'd still love to see them go after Solomon Hill too, they should have the $$$ to pull it off if they can send money back in the process of finding a SG.

Options are wide open in this scenario

I was thinking along the same lines and I love that Idea. Would you keep Gay in this scenario? Or do you try and move him as well for a PG if Rondo leaves, maybe to phoenix for Knight to back up Collison? You are right though, options are wide open in this scenario.

I wouldn't mind that as a summer. Although I think Anderson should be off the bench. I'd also rather go after a younger guy (like Bazemore) and just dump Koufos into someone's cap in that scenario but Lee is fine I suppose.

The "let Rondo walk" needs to be followed by using the liberated cap space to get a SG. Courtney Lee would be a good candidate. I'd be happy with the walking-injury-report that is Eric Gordon as well. That dude is great when healthy.

I am of the belief that if they go after Anderson then Gay should be moved and replaced with more of a defensive spot shooter like Hill. I think with Collison/Gay/Cuz/Anderson there will be struggles to find shots for all of them. That's not even considering if they pick up someone like Dunn, Valentine, Hield, etc. in the draft. Especially Hield. That's way too out of balance offensively.

Robert Covington, 24, 26 for Gay. If we were to sign Anderson I would strongly consider this.

I may be one of the only guys around that may want to keep Rondo if the price is fair. I like how he helps WCS offensive game, think part of the defensive trouble was with Karl's scheme, and don't mind the ball in his hands a great deal.

Price permitting that is.

We need more leadership too, and he's been trough it all.

Guess it would depend on the coach's needs.

Collison wants to start, and won't come off the bench again, so it's an either/or thing with them.

It's an interesting question though how Rondo's terrible D would improve under another coach, though. I'm not his biggest fan but I can see why some think Rondo would be better with Joerger

Phoenix wants a PF. Let's say Bender goes #3. It would make sense for PHX to trade back to #8 if they have no interest in a PG or SG. My proposal

Gay
#8

For

#4
Filler

PHX gets Rudy and their pick at the first Big not named Bender.

Kings move up and take their pick of Dunn, Murray, Hield.

If that filler is Tucker than I'd love a deal like that.

I still wouldn't mind seeing the Kings take a shot at Cuz' buddy Bledsoe in a risk/reward kind of deal. Maybe something like Gay/McLemore/Koufos/8 for Bledsoe/Tucker/Chandler/4. The Kings take on some major money but pick up some pieces that can prove valuable this year. The Suns incentive is breaking up some of those contracts into more movable ones.

I'm all for Gay/8 for 4/Bledsoe or Knight, if other filler needs to be involved I'd be ok with it. Speaking of the Suns, I'd love it if we could snag Teletovic as a cheaper Anderson if we don't get him, I'm sure Vlade and Peja could work some connections there.

Bledsoe or Knight won't be the filler in a Gay/ #8 trade to PHX for #4. Unless Kings add more value like WCS which won't happen.

I was thinking Tucker as well SacKingzzz. Your larger trade I'd stay away from.

Yeah even if Rondo paid us for him to play here I still would want nothing to do with Rondo.

I'm slowly jumping on the "overpay for Barnes" train if the Kings could trade Gay.
