it's baseball. it's not like football or basketball where the dominant team simply... dominates. every baseball team goes through hot streaks then struggles through losing streaks. game can eat you up until that walk off homerun to win it with no more outs to spare.

we've got six outs and 1 run to tie, let's enjoy the ride.

now 5 outs to go.
ehhhhh f it.

I hated the feel of tha game all the way through and Myers getting on with that weak blooper put my stomach in knots.

Not BJ right? No. Not him.
Yes him.

Baseball has been incredibly cruel to Dodger fans over the last month.

Ryu gave up 2 Homers tonight too....fastball sat at 87 MPH again as well.

Apparently Montas hit 100 MPH while at extended spring training. Good sign. Ranma had me spooked with the damaged goods talk. Not out of the woods but the live arm is still there.

Might be time to bench Yaz.

Let Ellis work.
Bring Austin back.

Man.

We need a bat bad.
You guys are against it. But I think we can get Milwaukee to pay half of Braun's contract and stash him in LF.

No Bats in the Belfry

Post#1170 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 3:41 am

I have faith our bats will figure things out so I'm not panicking about it just yet. Personally, I think Austin Barnes should be starting for us at catcher. I like what I've been seeing from Thompson and Kendrick with regards to their hitting. Joc has been doing well himself and I think Puig will put it all together some time in the 2nd half of the season. I'm more concerned with getting rid of dead weight so that more deserving players get opportunities at the Major League level.

Wood Continues to Roll Along

Post#1171 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 3:43 am

Wood struck out the side in the 5th inning and just K'd the 1st batter he faced in the 6th inning to tie his career high.

Do you give Wood the 7th?

Unbelievable how pathetic this team's offense is at times.
Reminds me of getting no hit twice in 9 day.

Emperor Thumbs Up

Post#1175 » by Ranma » Sun May 22, 2016 3:58 am

Yeah, it's disappointing that the offense has been wasting some good pitching efforts by our starting staff. I'd give Wood the call in the 7th inning just to see what he has left. It's not like the offense...oops...nevermind. Trayce just gave us the lead with a 2-run shot. In any case, Wood's pitch count is in the 80's. Let's give him a chance to build on finding his proper release point.

btw, SMFH at Brandon McCarthy's set back.
good news is that it won't ruin his time table in coming back.

Wood deserves a win tonight.

**** Derek Norris' fluke bloop double off a broken bat.

this game should be a good example as of why Ws and Ls means little to evaluating pitchers. Jose Lima was a 20 game winner, and MIller lost 17 while posting better than average 1.247 WHIP and better than average 3.00-ish ERA.
