Like the look of his aggression and physical abilities. Will be able to come in and lead the second unit from day one.

Are you trading Bazz in this scenario?

Yes.

I don't get the love some have for him.

He's nothing like Shabazz. Hield is a pure SG and a lights out shooter. He's more like JJ Reddick and that is a player this team needs.

The team needs a solid PF who can plays on defense well, for me. I believe in LaVine for SG position.

Yes, we need good bench players, however there are many role players like that in FA or we can get that type of players by trade. If we use our pick to draft a bench player we will be waste our pick in my opinion.

Get ready to be disappointed then, because nobody in this draft class at our pick will be a starter on this team.

I think that Bender and Sabonis could be starter in this team.

If we pick a player who ends up being a 6MOTY contender for many years and is the perfect foil to our currant stars then I would call this 5th selection a mega success.

Being a senior the age factor and potential might be a bit of a problem as Hield's closer to his ceiling, but considering the number of really young guys on the team and our short-term goals I don't see a reason to pick Murray for this particular team over Buddy. They're both similar in that they're rather small SGs with a great stroke but average athleticism, not too good on defense and poor creating instincts, but Hield is more of an all-around scorer, he's a bit better handling the ball IMO, he's more physical, a tad bigger, quite longer in terms of wingspan, and above all he's more poised and determined. Considering we already have a very young SG who needs to grow physically and defensively, I'd go with the more Thibs-ready player in this draft, if we were to pick one of Murray or Hield.

As for Dunn, I don't see him playing SG at all, but he'd make an interesting pick in that it would give the Wolves a much better back-up PG in the long run, since Tyus is always gonna be limited defensively and maybe even offensively. Unfortunately it usually takes a while for young PGs to adapt to the NBA, even when they are as experienced in the college level as Dunn is, and I don't think Thibs would be too comfortable going into the season with two young PGs as Ricky's back-ups.

I'm not a fan of Brown, Skal's too raw and I also don't see the need to go for two currently bad fits like Poetl and Davis, so as expected before the lottery I'd seriously consider trading the pick given that none of the three main guys are gonna be there when we pick. Otherwise, if we keep it, I'd be fine with either Hield (makes a bit more sense right away) or Dunn (bigger upside).

I agree. But I think it is more important bring a great starter PF that a potential 6MOTY. Especially because we already have Shazz, Dieng and Pek. Moreover if we sign Deng it will be a very good bench for me.

The problem with that is there's not a great starter at PF in this draft for us. Bender might be that player down the road, but he's not gonna be there at #5.

I think Boston could trade his pick. ¿Bender+PF/Smart? X Dieng+#5?

Or draft Sabonis :)

Buddy Hield going away. Thanks for playing and good luck in the draft!
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

So i'm assuming most of the Wolves board would be pleased if the draft fell this way?

I would be. Obviously I'd be more pleased if one of Ingram/Simmons/Bender fell to 5 but that's not happening. I have a hard time seeing PHO taking Murray, too (Brown would make more sense) but I'd still take Hield at 5 anyway.
