I'd definitely give up Bazz to move up to get Bender. I would really have to think about it if Gorgui was the price.

I don't think you understand how good LaVine is and how good he is going to be. How would JJ Redick transform the offense? He would replace the one guy who was actually a good perimeter shooter for the wolves, not to mention his athleticism and speed and handle with the ball which JJ does not have.
This is the problem with Ricky supporters. You can't have your cake and eat it too. LaVine is and will be an even better shooter, he is not the problem when you talk about the lack of shooting on the team. Rubio is the primary problem, look to draft a guy like Murray if you really want to solve wolves shooting woes who can backup Rubio and eventually take over in a year or two.
What does Rubio have to do with having Redick in the lineup? I'm talking about having one great shooter, not a lineup full. Having an elite shooter changes your offense, and JJ does it more than the average elite shooter. Redick's off-ball work and the level of attention he commands are an entire level higher than Zach's. JJ isn't just some good shooter. He's one of the 3 best shooters in the league and one of the best we've ever seen at running off screens and releasing the ball quickly.

There's only a 10% chance of re-injury, and he's changed up a lot of his in-game mechanics and daily routines since then.

The surgeons in my family would like to knowing if that's per hour? week? or month? That's an absurd thing for a doctor to say, total BS. So if he goes up for a layup, gets knocked sideways and lands on that shoulder, we roll a ten sided die?

A Celtics fan proposed in the trade board #5 for Avery Bradley #16 and #23
I think I'd do that

I'd rather do a straight up swap #5 for Jae Crowder if possible. His contract even extends to the year Towns gets his first huge salary.

This would be a no brainer. Crowder was arguably their most important player last year.

That's a nice thought but they're not doing that. Boston's looking to win now and they have 8 picks in this draft. They're not getting a 9th one and letting go of one of their most important players and their only above average SF, who's also on an extremely favorable contract.

Wolves should still go BPA. Yes I'd like to see guys with shooting and rebounding to be placed higher on their draft board but the perceived holes at W and PF can be filled in house. We still need more talent.
You can justify any selection really, with possible exception of a poor shooting W like J.Brown.
-Dunn, at worst, provides depth, lockdown D and insurance for often injured Rubio.
-Hield and Murray both can provide spacing and scoring. Both would fit in just fine with Rubio/Lavine.
-Bender gives KAT a high upside partner and provides more shooting/spacing.
-Ellenson, should be pan out, would be a near perfect stretch 4 offensively in modern NBA and fill big need.
Point is that the Wolves should just take the most talented player. We can pencil in Rubio/Wiggins/Towns into our lineup. Towns and Wiggins can play two positions, but let's assume Wiggins plays SF and Towns at C. That leaves plenty of options to fit in our current players and future picks. We have a ton of flexibility. I say make a draftboard, reward guys that shoot and rebound well on that draftboard and just go BPA at 5. If that is Dunn, so be it.
PG: RUBIO (Dunn)
SG: Lavine (Murray/Hield)
SF: WIGGINS Muhammed
PF: Dieng, Bjelica (Bender/Ellenson)
C: TOWNS, Pekovic

Fun fact: Jimmy Butler was 22 for his entire rookie year. Too old. He'll never amount to anything.

nbadraft has ellenson at 17 and draftexpress has him at 13 - would giving up Shabazz be enough for a late lottery pick i.e Utah or Chicago so we can take him aswell as Murray at 5?

Two thoughts (1) I don't think it would be enough, but with the right team/fit you never know, and (2) I don't see Thibs wanting to make the roster younger by making such a trade.

The "Doctors" in my family (=Vomit) would suggest those 2 winspan measurements are compareable

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
Buller allstar value come from his two-way all around game. Hield isnt udersized to play the 2, he just isnt a very good defender.
He could be a valuable player anyway like redick is, but its hard to think he will be a defensive presence like butler is.
As the time pass Im buying more into picking murray, dunn or hield. They would bring different things to the team.
Murray and Hield are both good off ball players. However I think Hield is better athlete due to age, and probably the best shooter with his feet set. In the other hand Murray has more potential like a playmaker down the road. He had impressive numbers for a freshman. However is not clear if he will be an average defender even down the road.
Dunn has the better phisical tools and defensive potential. He would be a great backup to rubio, even if he shares his lack of spacing would be a better scorer and compensate his lack of elite vision. He would be some steps above Tyus, and have a capable backup PG is good to have. It gives you easier offense against bench players, and makes the opossing offensive unit at least move the ball instead of just blow someone off with a pick. His shoulder should be a concern however.
The way our roster its build we should bring another bigger wing/stretch 4. If that happens take one of Hield or Murray and the minutes are hard to distribute (but not impossible). Picking Dunn you put Tyus minutes on ice, but I dont think he is ready right now to be a PG backup in a .500 team.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
I think Hield measuring out well for his wingspan is good news for his defensive potential. He won't be a lockdown guy, but his long arms will help a lot in the passing lanes at least. I think he will project as a better defensive player than Murray, who Cal basically called terrible on that end all season. If Hield is Reddick offensively, then he'd be a great player. Reddick isn't terrible on defense, but like Murray has a pretty short wingspan.

Another thing I love about Murray...Ranked #1 in the country shooting off of screens. Also has a lot of moves driving to the basket(finishes at 59% at the rim), and is good at drawing fouls inside.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
I just hope we get one of the best shooters. I don't watch enough college ball to properly decide between Hield and Murray, but Hield seems like more of a SG and has the better nickname so I'm siding with him. #believeinbuddy

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
Don't be surprised if we pick Dunn. I'm a fan of rubio and would agree that he is a smart and superior defender, especially team wise. But if you think we have the defensive guard depth to defend a Westbrook in a 7 game series I'd argue your wrong. OKC right now is using there athleticism and length against GS and making them look like they don't even belong there.
Not saying he's our guy and he's all we should be looking at. Obviously we need shooting. But I trust thibs to put us in the best position to win not just in the regular season but in the playoffs. I believe he will be looking hard on how he can get more defense out of that 1-2 position.
For me my big board would look like this.
1. Dunn
2. Heild (with lavine playing some PG again)
3. brown (can play strong limited defensive role first yr)
4. Murray/bender
*Most important thing is playoffs experience for this team. So we need some players that can contribute right away. Heild and Dunn give us the best in the draft at what this team needs. Shooting or defense.
If we choose brown we can make use of him because of his NBA ready body and skill set
But if we have to choose Murray or bender - we better get our dleague team up and rolling because I believe these two will be really good but not ready to contribute to winning nxt year.
