Super interesting podcast with Reddick and Van Gundy. A must listen.

Van Gundy goes into great detail about his own self-doubt as a coach, about how hard he can be on himself and where that comes from. They also talk about the challenge of Van Gundy’s dual roles with the Pistons, and they look back at the worst verbal undressing that Redick ever received as a player (from Stan, of course).

Also talks about the Pistons needing a bigger PF who can guard the 4/5, especially after how KLove hurt us. Something many of assumed he would target this offseason.

Interesting what he said about defensive stats and how he harped about culture and lockrroom. Kinda seemed like he was referring to Dwight.

SVG already said we needed a bigger PF that could play the 4/5 - some people just missed the article!

I still haven't figured out who the candidates for the big PF are who can play 4 & 5. Myers Leonard and Sullinger are restricted and not very good defensively, as is Terrence Jones. Horford is not realistic. D-Mo is not on the list, so its down to Speights & Humphris (good O -bad D) and Jordan Hill & (probably) Amir Johnson (good D - no jumper)

It's Stan, he's probably going to get OKC to trade us Ibaka for Meeks / Dinwiddie / 2 2nds.

My main takeaway was Stan's requirement to get high character guys. Specifically, how it's hard to find both talented, high character guys. I guess teams like to keep those guys.

Well OKC might just win a title now. Ibaka seems out of reach, especially if Durant stays.

Amir got no long range jumper which SVG really likes with his PF.

We're looking for a PF/C, not the typically SVG's PF. Amir midrange game is reliable anyway.

I think Amir's first shot (and make) in an NBA game was a three-pointer.
