You may as well make the argument that Cody isn't athletic because he doesn't shoot threes or get enough assists. It's like saying Biz is not athletic because he can't dribble. You don't quantify raw athleticism by pointing to statistical performance on the court. You do it by, you know, measuring how high you can jump and how fast you can run. I'm honestly in a bit of disbelief that this has to be explained.

When you equate raw athleticism with rebounding ability, you get absurd results like Al Jefferson being an elite athlete because he can rebound.

I'm pretty sure that Cody's high school team would beat Kswiss' college team.

Cody's hair is thinning, he's not athletic.

I played against his high school team back in the day, but it was before his time. It was Tyler's sophomore year. They completely wrecked us. I remember none of us being all that impressed with Tyler. He was about 6'7" at the time and all he did was run the floor and rebound (thats all he does now, but hes 7' instead of 6'7"). I probably would have laughed if you tried to tell me he would be in the NBA one day. I would have reacted the same if someone told me Matt Howard, who I also played against multiple times, would be a go to player on an NCAA tourney finals team. They were definitely good, but I didn't expect nearly that much from either of them.

Pretty much lol.

My high school team was like the bad news bears, except without all that stuff where they turn things around and become a good team lol. We went 0-20 my junior year. I quit after the 17th loss. It was embarrassing.

Yep. Played against Washington in a summer league tourney and for some reason Connersville paid my single A school (I had 37 people in my graduating class) a couple grand every year to play a road game at their gym. Kind of plays into some of the stereotypes about Indiana high school basketball. My school usually had around 300 total students in grades 7-12 and I played against multiple D1 college stars and at least one NBA player lol.

I had 700 people in my graduating class. LOL. Needless to say, I was not on the basketball team.

Learned something new today, Braggins is from Indiana.

I wonder if Kswiss quit his team when they went 1-22. LOL.

One of the biggest plays of the year was created by Cody. Everyone talked about the shot (and rightfully so) but that doesn't make Cody's play here less vital.

The tip, immediately puts Whiteside in his rear view, then holds Winslow before dragging Dragic into the paint instead of getting out on Lin.

This was my favorite play of the year. That Pass. Also is a reminder that Batum's injury was a factor along with Cody's own injury in Cody's reduced effectiveness vs. MIA. Batum unlocked a lot of Cody's value this year.

You could do a highlight reel of Batum to Zeller with the opposing C trailing.

this one happened in the same quarter

Cody's first week as a starting center he faced Whiteside (see above) and Drummond on B2B. Here are SVG's comments about Drummond after he crushed Cody's soul....wait wait, what?

“He didn’t play with any energy at all,” Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said. “He didn’t roll on his pick-and-rolls, he didn’t run the floor, he didn’t go to the offensive glass other than to push people. He just didn’t do anything.”

“The two games with them we haven’t been able to keep up with them in the half-court, or the full-court, or in transition,” Van Gundy. “They play too fast, we play too slow. We can’t keep up with them.”
