That's all that matters for many players, though.

Btw, Hertha will play at the Olympiastadion for 8 more years, but there are plans to build a new stadium in the future. Would be cool, but I guess that'll take them another 25 years.

He'll walk into our starting XI and can showcase himself for big clubs in Europe both in Bundesliga and EL. Plus, it will be easier to get out of Mainz than out of Leipzig once a big club knocks at the door.

Leipzig only advantage is that they'll pay him better and have the money to buy him outright.

Yeah, I tought of you first once I read that article about Hojbjerg.
Could be a good fit, would get playing time and there's an openining in the starting eleven after Baumgartlinger left.

BTW: The list for Xhaka replacements at Gladbach currently includes:
Sebastian Rode
Christoph Kramer
Edimilson Fernandes(Sion)

I guess we'll see a vet and a talent being brought in and the deal for Vestergaard seems to be done as well.
Also, Bild is throwing in Breel Embolo(for €20M  ) as well. You know, just for the sake of it...

Found his level. Not good enough for the the big leagues(PL or La Liga.)

How can Hojberg show himself in the EL with Mainzer? This team couldn't pass relegation zone Greek team.

He's an excellent coach. The thing with him is that he really needs the right situation to be successful and if he feels like it isn't right anymore, he'll leave instantly. So yeah, maybe he shouldn't coach a European top club. It doesn't seem like he's made for all the pressure by the media etc. But if you have a solid team and want to become a lot better (no matter what league you play in), he's a great choice.

I know it's not saying a lot, but he's by far the best coach Hertha had since I started watching.

Sure, a guy that turned Hertha into a contender and brought Gladbach back to europe isn't good enough for big leagues.
But hey, he certainly isn't a Bruno Labbaddia type of world class manager...

Hertha was relegated the following season and he would've relegated you guys this season.

If he is so good as you say, why is he at Nice now and not a bigger club?

He had every single somewhat solid player being taking away from Hertha and got no replacements given that the club didn't have any money.
And he certainly wouldn't have been relegated with us, given that there was still 29 games to go and a couple of guys were coming back as well.

Him not going to a bigger club has way more to do with his handling of the press(or dislike) than anything else.
He's a fantastic manager that will make players better and get everything out of them, like he's shown at Berlin, Gladbach and even during his time in Switzerland.

BTW: Würzburger Kickers have also won the 2nd leg of the playoffs for the 2nd Bundesliga and will be part of it next season, while Duisburg will go back into 3rd Divsion.

Mainz will play at least six games more in Europe as Gala next season I heard...so Höjbjerg would have at least have the group stage to showcase himself.

Didnt you say that you wanted to avoid Europa League?

I'm sure you wont be sad if the likes of Man United with Mourinho and Ibrahimovic or Inter Mailand make a visit to Coface Arena.

I like Würzburg. They created the 3rd greatest German athlete of all time after Beckenbauer and Schumacher so because of that they deserve a team in the 2. Liga at least.

I don't care about Europa League at all. Team is already falling apart. Karius and Baumgartlinger gone. Malli probably, too.
Hopefully, transfer targets do care about playing in the EL, though.

Even if Manchester United were to visit Opel Arena (new stadium name    ) they would most likely play their bench anyway. Not exactly something I need to see.

Him throwing in the towel with Gladbach is the biggest indictment, who knows if they would have stayed on with him, but the fact that he flat out quit isn't something that I would overlook.

He quit because he saw that he couldn't help the team anymore, given that he's an incredibly demanding manager and the team needed a new voice.
That actually supports his case, given that he's not going to hang on to his job for the money and realizes if change is needed.

I also don't get why people would look down on that Nice job. It's a young and talented team(forming young players is his go to move), playing EL next season and located at the Cotê D'Azur in a country which speaks his native language, given that he's from the french part of Switzerland.

Xhaka went for 35 million euro.
Karius went for 4.7 million pound.

Lmao :) Both are ridiculous.

And those €35M are just the base for Xhaka and could go up to €45M. ;)

Though, I'm not sure how less than €7M are ridiculous for a 22 year old starting keeper who was one of the best in the league.
Unless, of course, you'd call it ridiculously low.

Kramaric signs with Hoffenheim.

He'll be great for them and become a star in the German league.

I'm so sorry it didn't work out for him at Leicester.

He was already with them this season and didn't do too much.
The guy who'll shoulder the biggest load on offense will be Mark Uth, IMO.
