I saw he got selected to the USA select team.. I guess that kills the chances of playing for PR?

That would suck, it's cool to see more competition/parity on the international scale, and he'd be playing alongside Harkless, Barea, Balkman, Ledo and potentially Napier (rumor was he's not interested).

Haven't heard anything but i'm assuming he is sticking with Team USA since they usually groom them in the select team. He would be kinda foolish to pass up the chance to get on that team to play for Puerto Rico

To be fair, Calipari's system at Kentucky allowed for a more balanced attack, and guys played balanced minutes. It wasn't like other big-name programs that rode the back of their Best Players (ie: Duke).

Which is why when guys like KAT, Booker, Winslow got the increased time and focus of the offensive or defensive roles...they jumped at the chance. They were hungry.

Booker is showing Kal' that he messed up by not utilizing his sharpshooting more.

Maybe they would've gone 40-0 instead of 39-1.

 true. I wonder how far Okafur or Frank would've fallen in that scenario.

I think posters are slighting Kla when they say they would be disappoitned if that is 'only" Booker's out come. I don't see that many stylistic similarities but if he is that impact there's no reason to complain. Booekr may end up beign slightly better off the bounce /putting it n the deck as a driver. However will h e be dynamic enough as a initiator/shot creator to dominate the ball and have an offense run through him? Thats a differenece between him being a Beal and a Harden/Roy. I feel like he will be a more reliable alpha dog closer but man Klay has no chill with his trigger and takes treys you're just not supposed to, he is so streaky he could unconsciously explode for 30 in a quarter before disappearing . If Booker even approaches his level of devestation a spot up shooter that would be something. Klay although not an lockdown All-NBA defender is above average , we are just hoping Booker gets more than he gives up on the other end

In 10 years Devin Booker will be younger than Steve Nash when the Suns signed him in 2004.

Been watching some Devin Booker game highlight videos on Youtube. If this kid had just a little bit more athleticism he'd be dubbed the next big thing. Watch his highlights and he gets to the rim fairly easily but 95% of the time he only gets layups. Just imagine if he had some Jason Richardson dunks or even a few steps down to lets say Archie Goodwin type athleticism. Is this something he can still work on? I imagine he can get a little faster but I'm not sure how much more explosion he can bring. Anyway, just a thought.

He is not too old to add some athleticism. He still has a kid's body.

Because he's known as a shooter people underrate his athleticism. He's much more athletic than you're giving him credit for imho.

Booker can get by with his deceptive shiftiness but he won't blow by his man. He tested off the charts in the lane agility/shuttel drills but is basically useless and only serves as an indicator whether you can stay in front of your man and have nimble feet to change directions. Players will sometimes only back pedal properly and just run sideways rather than actually sliding. First step explosion , hops, top-end speed are thing that you are born with and can't be drastically impoved.. He did have a growth spurt between his pre-season freshman measurements and the Combine tho, his wingspan grew but was only a couple of inches more than his in shoes height which is below average

Three Quarter Sprint: 3.28 sec (t-22nd out of 48 players)
No-Step Vert: 27.5" (t-33rd out of 49 players)
Max Vert: 34.5" (t-24th out of 48 players)

I'm not underrating his athleticism at all, I'm just saying if he was as explosive as some of these other guys he'd be a human highlight reel.

Every off-season our rookies are considered HoF players until the game starts again.
