You can't lump X-Men and those awful Spider-Man movies in with the actual Marvel Studios MCU tho lol

I enjoyed the last two X Men more than any Marvel movie except maybe Winter Soldier and the first Avengers. Guardians of the Galaxy better than all of them though.

I was just talking about sueprhero movies in general. I did enjoy the spiderman movies, but I was younger then and my standards were lower. That said, I still think they were fairly well done for its time.

MCU definitely took the superhero genre to the next level

GotG I really didn't like much the first time I watched it, but for some reason I like it more every time I watch lol. Its funny man. I mean dancing to beat the big bad villain is lame no matter how you slice it but it's still thoroughly enjoyable.

I really enjoyed GotG but I don't think I liked it as much as the 1st Avengers film. I think it's possibly because I'm just not familiar with the GotG characters nor are their powers especially powerful. But it was a fantastic film, with awesome acting, solid script and just a lot of fun.

I think the 1st Avengers film was the most fun in-theater experience, but GotG holds up better after multiple viewings. If GotG and Avengers were on TV at the same time, I would choose GotG.

Coincidently, the 1st Avengers was just on TV last week which I watched and still thoroughly enjoyed. I feel Avengers is the bigger blockbuster and that's why I sway towards that over GotG.

yeah, Avengers was just a huge deal putting all those characters together, while tying together multiple solo movies as well. Pretty basic formula for the plot..but it was just such an anticipated culmination of phase 1 it was going to be well received no matter what.

I think that's where Age of Ultron suffers a bit among fans, the novelty of getting them all on screen together has worn off some, and you notice the rather predictable formulaic plot playing out more

I loved the humor and characters more in GotG. It was just awesome to go in not knowing any characters and be blown away. I think I saw it in the theater on two consecutive weekends. I've never been a huge fan of Iron Man or Thor, and I didn't think the first Captain America was all that great, and it was the first Hulk appearance. I still thought it was very good, and I also liked Winter Soldier better than any other stand alone, but was disappointed in the second Avengers.

Winter Soldier was awesome. If you liked that I think youd like season 1 at least of Agents of Shield.

Beyond stoked for Civil War, though at this point If it's not the best MCU movie to date I'll be disappointed, setting myself up for failure I guess.

I asked the Media Lounge about AOS, but most said it sucked, and there are a bunch of MCU and comic book fans in that forum. Not really my thing, but I was wondering if I should check that or Gotham out.

I mean it's not some epic show but the Winter Soldier/season 1 relation is pretty good.

Gotham is..ok. I actually think it's gotten better as it goes, starting to extend some story lines past 1 episode, unlike S1 where it was just a typical cop show with a new threat every episode that is neutralized at the end of it.

And yes I will be hanging out there, you're the man.

Could you just start Gotham in season 2 and not miss much? Did you notice all the people in the Agent Carter thread and one saying cancel AOS instead?

I think Agent Carter is the only superhero television show I really like. Supergirl is fine, I haven't seen Flash, Arrow didn't keep my attention season 1 so I just stopped watching. They've got another show that I haven't checked out. But with the amount of superhero movies, I don't mind not watching the shows.

EDIT: I did really love Jessica Jones and enjoyed Daredevil. Totally forgot about them.

I mean you'd be missing some things. I've never liked starting a show not at the beginning. You could figure it out..it would just take some time I guess.

I'm not caught up on Agent Carter so I've steered clear of any talk of it to this point.

Anyone here watch Banshee?
Man I wish I would have known that this season (season 4) was it's finale. I would have tried to savor it more. So upset that it finished, I really wish they would have extended it, I wouldn't even care if they made it cheesy or what not it was a damn good show!
Lili Simmons is something else.

I just marathoned most of the season Friday night and Saturday night. After watching about half of episode one a while back, I was thinking this season was going to be a big letdown after the epic season 3. But it was much better than I expected with some great fight scenes once again, and a great finale.

Yeah, you won't be caught off guard with a show like that ending if you frequent the Media Lounge on these forums. Banshee is actually the top non stickied thread now. viewforum.php?f=68

No, I will probably check it out though. Quite a few things on my list now, especially now that Bloodline season 2 got released today.

Anyone catch the news about Markieff and his 'suspected' Weed!?!? Kieff's done some stupid things, but I can't imagine him being THAT stupid, especially when travelling with his mama. She's likely to whoop him and dish out a more harsh punishment than any law enforcement would!! LOL!!
