Again, just so were clear... OrlandO has been pretty much correct on these guys. They are, from what I can see, not any where close to credible news sources.

I've just seen several examples of him name calling, and attacking people here and in other threads in his exasperation.

Maybe, people here haven't been clear in stating that the info they get from twitter they don't take as anything other than rumor. Yet, they really shouldn't have to imo.

I for one think it's fun to hear rumors and talk about them. That's one of the reasons I read this forum. Besides, outside of the infallible Woj, I really don't think the majority of these "Sports reporters" are too much better than some of these guys throwing up ish on the wall of the net to see what sticks.

In fact there have been several members of this site who have become credited reporters over time. And posters here still say they have no sources sometime, or can't write.

I just don't really see the merit in constantly arguing if they're actual reporters, or how exact their predictions are. I especially don't see why anyone would get so worked up about it, and attack others over it. Unless they're an actual reporter themselves.

You and some others will tell me it's just for fun, everybody knows to take it with a grain of salt. But you just saw that is not true here. There are folks who do give them too much credit and they get defensive if you question it. These are the people I'm arguing with, not people like you who acknowledge what they are and simply want to talk about it for amusement. I don't go around attacking people for the heck of it. People will ask if these sauces are credible, I'll respond that they're not and then I'll get criticized for it by others. Other times I'll be discussing something with someone and they'll use one of these sauces in a response, so naturally I'm going to mention they're not a credible source since I take no joy in discussing rumors from fake insiders (I'm not the only one who feels this way)... and again I'll get confronted by those who disagree. Similarly, if I see someone spreading misinformation from one of these sources, I'll likely chime in. These are the things that happened in the last thread and this thread that led to arguments.

And just to be clear, I'm actually one of the people who defend lesser known credentialed media these days, even posted tweets from some of them during the vogel sweepstakes. It's just the fakes that get to me.

I'm cool with that man, and like I said, you post a lot of good info imo. This particular thing just seemed to set you off, and I'm just saying maybe it's not worth it in this context. One of those, "Dont see the forest for the trees" types.

I've seen some really good posters, old schoolers, get dragged down into a mindless debate with others recently, and ultimately be reduced to their level, or sometimes worse.

It's just not a good look regardless of who is right, you know?

In fact, and I may get some flack from them, but I'd like to point out Soul, and even Bensational in this regard. Long time awesome posters, that seemed to really deteriorate over the last several months due to arguing with trolls.

A couple of times they got really snarky with people, instead of just disagreeing with the thought/post. Which, to me, was really out of character for them as all time great posters.

Since then, and after they became mods, to me, they've been shining examples of how to conduct oneself on a message board. Kudos to them for showing that restraint, and in turn, facilitating good conversation amongst argumentative Magic board fans.

Who cares guys. Agree to disagree about the rumor. Everyone that wanted to form an opinion already formed one. I'd say moderators should stop this discussion continuing as it's not constructive. If you want to discuss it, make a new thread about quality of sauces.

Off the topic...
I could not answer your question that way, I don't have that option granted yet.
I'm interested did you realized what I did yesterday in that answer on another topic?

I really don't give a **** about the minutiae of the Vogel hiring, that Markee dude took a wild guess, and it happened to stick.

Hibbert credited him for teaching him how to play defense. Look what happened to Lance/Hibbert after they left... went from looking like all stars to duds. Vogel put those guys in positions to succeed without compromising the team. Last year he fell short of making the playoffs by half a game despite missing his best player - george hill, cj miles and rodney stuckey were the leading scorers. I thought he adjusted pretty well this year with george returning from a major injury after a year off and losing his defensive anchors (west/hibbert replaced by rookie turner/backup mahinmi). Of course, he has had some pretty good players, but that shouldn't take away from his coaching... that would be like discrediting SVG just because he had dwight/lewis/turk.

He will face his challenges here... and who knows how long it will take him to mold us into a competitive playoff team. But right now I think most of us are just excited that he's the best coach we've had during this rebuild... that's part of the hype. The only part I'm hesitant to hype is his offense.... but it's not like we've had a good offense the last four years anyway... at least he will believe in our players and bump their confidence without looking like a pushover like vaughn.

Excellent write-up man. That's what I needed to read. I'm on board!

If we re-sign Nicholson and don't sign anybody big at PF in free agency, I bet Vogel will make better use of Nicholson than Vaughn/Skiles did. If Scola/Hansbrough can get some burn every game under Vogel, Nicholson will probably get the same treatment... which I'm sure you'd be pleased with. :D

I'm glad to hear that - man if Nicholson sees 18mpg I'd be ecstatic! Loving vogel more and more ;)
