Yup.
Knowing Ainge, he is probably offering a package center around Avery Bradley, Rozier and either 16 or 23 for Noel.

Rozier i don't want.
I'd do bradley, 16, and 23 for noel

What the heck are we going to do with 16 and 23?
We already HAVE more first round picks than we want.

Defensive minded big men are in vogue, I think many here are undervaluing Noel, even with RFA status after next season.

what do you think is a the best offer we could get from the Celtics or any other team for noel?
I don't see anyone trading us a top 5 pick for him, or packaging him along with one of our lower picks or lakers pick for a star

I do think it's a pretty fair trade. I don't know if I do it though because I value Noel as Embiid insurance. If there were no health concerns with Embiid I might be more inclined to do it.

We really need to pick who we want to play at C between Okafor and Noel. Neither are 4's and its looking optimistic that we will have 2 better options to play that role shortly in Simmons and Saric.
So, if Embiid never makes it we need a C. Who do you want? The scorer or the defender?
If Embiid develops perfectly then that's just great. We trade the remaining center then. Personally, that's not an issue but an absolute dream scenario.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Okafor can play the 4.
Will he struggle guarding the quicker smaller tweener PF sure but they will be an absolute disaster on the defensive end going up against Okafor. He's hard enough to defend when you send a big body on him.
Noel will never be able to play the PF well because he can't back down these small PF's on offense, has no jumpshot, and won't come out to on defense. It's pretty clear to anyone who watched games that Noel was a disaster at PF.
Okafor wasn't great but I don't think he was awful either. I'd like to see him more time at PF. People harp on his footspeed but what they don't realize is with his length he doesn't need play right up on his guy. He can give him some space and still contest shots.

With that said, choosing between Okafor and Noel, I would trade Okafor. And keep Noel as a 20 min big man of the bench.
Embiid, if healthy will still probably miss around 15 games each year, so Noel is there.
