He should be put on waivers and if no one claims him he should be designated for assignment. Waste of $8 million

Bluejays need to decide which direction they want to move in. Outside of Biagini and Osuna bullpen is trash

Floyd blew that game more than Storan. Pedroia hit a long fly ball that just happened to fall in the biggest gap in the OF. A little unlucky. But Floyd basically gifted them to the first 2 base runners.

There's reall zero point in waiving Storan because nobody is going to claim him right now, just need him to figure it out. Preferably not in high leverage situations but extra innings and several close games in a row dictated his appearance today.

2-1 Red Sox, 2-1 Yankees, how aren't people happy? Sure you let one slip, I guess, it was a tight fought game against two good teams, but then you stole one yesterday. Just keep winning series (we were 4 games below last week, and now 0.500), and we'll be in fine shape.

Travis seems to have picked up almost where he left off and has really boosted our O.

JD is starting to heat up, as is Jose. More than 100 games left, I am pretty sure we will be fine.

Incorrect. 110 games is not enough time to make up 5 games on the league leaders or 4 games on the wildcard. It's never happened in 135 years of MLB.

weren't you peddling this same bullsh*t all last season too (only to completely disappear between august-october)?. the schtick is getting tired, bro.

Tough loss. Dickey third time through the order gets smacked around.

I like Shapiro but it looks like he picked up a piece of crap in Storen.

That said, the bats are coming alive.

i hate the feeling of getting into the 7th and beyond in a close, up by 1 or 2, down by 1 or 2, or tied game

theres 162 games, ur gonna get a ton of close ones into the 7th, 8th, 9th, and into extras...your bullpen has to help u win a pretty fair share of these games if u want a post season making record

Perceived problems can change over time and often fix themselves. The bullpen just needs better health and a couple of normally reliable pitchers to find themselves.

The part of all these bullpen losses that nobody talks about though is how terrible the offense has been in the late innings. That was a problem today when they Scored 1 run in their final 6 turns at bat. It shouldn't have gotten to the point where they ran out of bullpen arms and were counting on Drew Storan.

The bullpen has been bad for sure, but your point is bang on. We left 11 guys on base yesterday, 10 on Friday I believe. Opportunities are there to help our bullpen out.....

That said, other then Storen being a complete disaster, Osuna is nails, Biagini looks like a thing, Floyd is fine in 6/7 innings and Chavez has struggled a bit lately but his numbers are basically on par with the last 3 years.

The biggest issue in that bullpen is Storen being crap and Cecil being crap and then hurt. Take the Yankees 7/8 guys away, take Boston's 7/8 guys away and their bullpen's are garbage too(I'm not comparing player to player, but rather their job on the team).
That's what she said.

alrighty ... the AAA relivers are not that great ...

there isnt anyone in the lower minors (AA,A) that we can bring up either.

the AA,A, lansing guys are probably at least 1-2 yrs away from making it to AAA

we need to trade clearly... or wait for Franklin Morales to be a 7th inning guy and bump everyone else down ...

Thankfully, the Jays seem to have done well against division rivals thus far even with the mediocre play this season. We still haven't had an extended winning streak yet, either, and every team does at some point in the season. As long as nobody runs away with the division too early (and I mean like 15 games+ ahead of us), the Jays should have a chance to get it later in the season.

Conceivably the Jays could be leading the division 8-10 days from now. That's how quickly things can change when you're only 5 games back. The amount of panic/doom and gloom posts in this forum is just ridiculous. There seems to be a lot of new fans that don't understand the up and down, hit and cold nature of the long MLB season.

I think the media has perpetuates this narrative. "Their 0.500... THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO WIN A TITLE THOUGH. PANAC. BLOW IT UP."

They need to sell stories and clearly people are buying them.

True true. I think if you're a fan of the 3 other major sports, it's difficult to realize how many games even the best teams lose throughout the long MLB season. They play so many games and the top teams post winning percentages that aren't overly impressive. Panicking about one or two losses in the NFL? Completely relevant. Panicking about a loss in MLB. Completely irrelevent. We just stole a game on Saturday we had no right winning and one day later everyone panics over an extra inning loss.
