Watching Klay singlehandedly win games in the playoffs with his 3-point shooting all but locks in my love for Hield. This team needs shooting more than anything else. If Hield is off the board, I'll gladly take Murray.

What if Dunn injuries again same shoulder? Given his slashing style of offense it is very important to know now.

- Very good shooter
- Incredible work ethic
- Good upside on both ends
- Will be ready to contribute from Day 1 and fits a need.
If Bender isnt available at 5, he should be the pick.
Really? If that was the case it would be a no brainer for me

I should say the chances of hield being a great defender is around the same that dunn por brown become great shooters. In top of that, if you can make 3's at high rate your defense is 1/3 easier to hide.

Do we think Hield can be the level of a defender that Klay is?

Anything is possible, but hard to predict that a below average college defender will be as good as Klay, who is regarded as one of the top defensive shooting guards in the league.
The counter to that is that no one thought Klay would be this good defensively coming out of college.

Yeah, I'm doubting it will happen, but as KG learned us all, anything is possible.

As good as Klay could be on defense, I dont think he is a game changer in that side of the ball. He is pretty good to be a top5 3pt shooter, but I dont know if I can put him in between the top defensive SG in the league.
DRPM is my favorite to account for defense, I find it really eye friendly, and has Klay 45th this season, and 40th last season between SG's.

Neither Hield or LaVine will be great defenders but I think Thibs can get them to be at least average defenders for their position, which would be fine with me.

I'm probably more concerned with Murrays defense than Hields

Hard to be a good defender when you lack quickness and length.

Hield has a bigger wingspan than klay and tony allen according to draftexpress.

From what I saw, yes. He has good physical tools, the willingness to improve and always give effort. He will never be Tony Allen but I think he can reach something close to Shumpert/Danny Green level.

Klay does it without either.

Too high for Ellenson at 5 but I do like his skill set next to KAT and PF is a position of need.

Agreed. The effort is there with Murray but I struggle to see it overcoming his lack of athleticism and short-ish arms.

He looks like young Sean Kilpatrick.

If the Wolves will pay me millions I'll kick opposing players in the nuts like Draymond.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
