i thought he was going to but he hesitated. maybe two billionaires from NYC was a factor but i think he just didnt want to wade into the slimefest of dealing with trump. he probably would have won looking at the situation now

Yeah, he definitely hesitated. It's a real shame, IMO. I would have given him a damn good chance if he ran as an independent as well, if he had put his name out there early enough...but he didn't.

Okay I'll make a new thread. Catch all politics will be in this thread.

No you won't. This is the politics thread where people will talk about the presidential election with some of the worst candidates of all time (and by far the worst one - I'll let you decide which one I think that is based on my closing your other thread).

And there we have it. The mod calling the shots here hates Trump and wants any positive discussion around him shut down. Trump fans are fair game to be stalked and harassed as shown by posts directed towards me here-

CluelessJackson wrote:so now you are going to whine about how you are treated as a trump supporter?

YOU LIED ABOUT BEING AN ECONOMIST

THERE IS ZERO CHANCE THAT YOU ARE AN ECONOMIST

AS A LIAR I DON'T THINK YOU DESERVE ANY BANDWIDTH NOW THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT YOUR HURT FEELINGS

IN THIS WAY YOU ARE JUST LIKE YOUR HERO TRUMP WHO LIES LEFT AND RIGHT & WHO DISHES IT OUT BUT CANT TAKE IT

CluelessJackson wrote:OK, so at least we know that when you are cornered you distill your point of view into the most dumbed down statement like this

YOU ARE A NATIONALIST

YOU HATE MUD PEOPLE

YOU ARE A RACIST AND A PROTO-FASCIST

And you have made Trump your best last shot at gaining power before the white majority finally fades just like all the other mud people haters in their bunkers

Can we get just one response from you about why you lied about being a trained economist. You duck it every time like a coward. You lied. And you wont own up to it. Why should anybody respect you at all?

And before this was a catch all politics thread it was a Trump thread and they allowed these posts

The mods don't want this forum to be a bash Trump place. We don't want it to be a support (insert candidate here) forum with multiple threads for multiple candidates. Too much clutter. You want a place to discuss this with other nuts (same goes for pro Hillary, Bernie, etc), go to the politics / current events forum on the site.

As for the insults - everyone cut it out. If y'all can't discuss politics without resorting to insults, don't discuss it. Next time there will be a warning and then a suspension. 3 strikes seems fair, right?

FWIW, the last two posts are not bad.

In a 1990 interview with Vanity Fair, Ivana Trump mentioned that, at least at one point, her husband used to keep a book filled with Hitler's speeches by his bedside. Just the crazy ramblings of a scorned ex-wife, yeah? Nope. Trump actually confirmed it. Don't worry, though, because Trump thought the guy who gave him the book was a Jew (the guy later confirmed that he's not), so it's not weird

I don't expect you have an understanding of 1930's Germany but there are a lot of similarities to Hitler's rise to power and what Trump is currently experiencing. This is not to say that I think that Trump is nearly as despicable as Hitler. Trump has a long way to go to reach Hitler status. However, his rhetoric is eerily similar. In short, Trump's fervent nationalism, his blame of a group for all other problems, his divisive rhetoric is all similar to Hitler's. You probably don't know what a demagogue is, but both Trump and Hitler are demagogues. Trump tweets Mussolini quotes. Trump is a fan of torture and thinks we should kill the families of terrorists.

At a news conference Tuesday, Trump released a list of 41 groups he said had received $5.6 million.

"Most of the money went out quite a while ago," Trump said. "Some of it went out more recently. But all of this has gone out."

Throughout Tuesday's confrontational event, Trump repeatedly slammed the media as "unbelievably dishonest" for its treatment of the issue and dismissed an ABC reporter as "a sleaze." He said many times that he didn't want credit for the fundraising but seemed peeved that he wasn't thanked for it.

"Instead of being like, 'Thank you very much, Mr. Trump,' or 'Trump did a good job,' everyone's saying: 'Who got it? Who got it? Who got it?' And you make me look very bad," Trump complained, taking on reporters in the room. "I have never received such bad publicity for doing such a good job."

Of course, it comes out that all the checks went out on May 24th, although he first made claims of the donations to veterans in January after ducking a debate. Now the media is treating him unfairly for keeping him accountable.

all i can say is your time will come and that the cost of trump as president is far worse than hillary no matter how much you may justifiably despise her

at the very least you can still count on her to be on the right side of some issues that you wouldnt get from the republican party. the republicans are the party that blocked stem cell research and continue to deny global warming

i chose bernie too because the core issue of campaign finance reform. and i think he is right that obama care was a capitulation to the profiteering practices of health services and insurance companies and needs to be restructured (which is not the same as the right wing wanting no health coverage at all which is just primitive). his heart is in the right place on many issues and while he wont get universal free education for everyone it is something that exists in other countries and many of the things he proposed are just alien to americans who think they are the center of the universe and if it didnt happen here before why should it now

but unless there is a turnabout in the democratic party that gives him the nomination i wont give up my vote to someone that would help trump get elected. i understand if you differ but i suggest take the patient view and consider the bitter medicine and bide your time

What are they doing?

You allowed stalking, harassment and hijacking to happen in thread then you rewarded those who engaged in that behavior while alluding to the fact that you hate Trump the most out of all candidates.

I personally have no confidence in your ability to moderate a political discussion here. But if you mods want this thread that way then I can't say anything besides just that I wouldn't want to be involved.

Aren't you for less government? You can and have said whatever you like. You have thrown a few barbs as well. If someone is particularly truthful toward you, you can always add them to your ignore list.

The single best predictor of Trump support in the GOP primary is the absence of a college degree.

In Sweden and Germany, there have been a lot of rapes and other violent crimes commited by the refugees. Western Europe is full of absolute cucks.

I haven't done anything. I just started paying attention to this thread - I posted in it once I believe a few months ago, but turned off the notifications because it was getting annoying. You have not reported any posts whatsoever in this thread and, as a result, posts have gone unnoticed. I just gave a warning to everyone that insults will not be tolerated from this point on - that is good for now. If I see something, I will give a warning and then a suspension.

I couldn't give two **** what you do here. This is now a politics thread. If you want a circle jerk for (insert favorite candidate here), go somewhere else on the forum. I also couldn't care less what you think about my ability to moderate a political discussion. I'm going to turn off notifications again for this thread. If there are insults being hurled, I hope posts are reported. If not, oh well.

Not sure what "award" you are talking about. I don't like Trump. This shouldn't come as a surprise. IIRC, the post I had in this thread a few months ago was saying how Bloomberg would be the much better candidate for republicans and would probably run away with the election because he's a better person, politician, knows how to be a business man, and isn't a little **** neo-Nazi like Trump is IMO (list can go on and on, but I don't care enough to keep going). I don't let my views on politics cloud my judgment here because I need to be unbiased in how I moderate - which I am being. EVERYONE has gotten a warning regardless of who they are voting for. Again, if you don't like that, go to the current events part of the site. Enjoy your day.

FWIW, I don't like Hillary or Bernie either. However, they are the lesser of two evils. Of those two, I like Bernie less than Hillary - not going to go in on that. Out of everyone who ran, I think Kasich might have been the best candidate going forward. It is what it is, though. He lost and now there are other candidates out there trying to get voted in.

On that note, enjoy your debate and hopefully y'all report posts because I sure as hell am done with this **** thread.

Former Trump University Workers Call the School a ‘Lie’ and a ‘Scheme’ in Testimony

Former Trump University Workers Call the School a ‘Lie’ and a ‘Scheme’ in Testimony

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/01/us/politics/donald-trump-university.html?_r=0

In blunt testimony revealed on Tuesday, former managers of Trump University, the for-profit school started by Donald J. Trump, portray it as an unscrupulous business that relied on high-pressure sales tactics, employed unqualified instructors, made deceptive claims and exploited vulnerable students willing to pay tens of thousands for Mr. Trump’s insights.

One sales manager for Trump University, Ronald Schnackenberg, recounted how he was reprimanded for not pushing a financially struggling couple hard enough to sign up for a $35,000 real estate class, despite his conclusion that it would endanger their economic future. He watched with disgust, he said, as a fellow Trump University salesman persuaded the couple to purchase the class anyway.

“I believe that Trump University was a fraudulent scheme,” Mr. Schnackenberg wrote in his testimony, “and that it preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money.”

For Mr. Trump, whose presidential campaign hinges on his reputation as a businessman, the newly unsealed documents offer an unflattering snapshot of his career since branching out, over the past decade, from building skyscrapers into endeavors that cashed in on his name to sell everything from water and steaks to ties and education.

The release of the documents on Tuesday, under court order, was the latest turn in a federal lawsuit, filed in California by dissatisfied former Trump University students, that has bedeviled the businessman since 2010 and could trail him into the White House if he is elected president.

Mr. Trump, who started the university in 2005, owned 93 percent of the now-defunct company. From the start, he acted as its chief promoter, rather than day-to-day manager, selling it as a tool of financial empowerment that would improve life for thousands of ordinary Americans. It would, he said, “teach you better than the best business school,” according to the transcript of a Web video.

Within the documents made public Tuesday were internal employee guides encouraging customers with little money to pay for the tuition with their credit cards. “We teach the technique of using OPM ... Other People’s Money,” explained the internal instructions for salespeople. The documents pushed employees to exploit the emotions of potential customers. “Let them know you’ve found an answer to their problems,” read confidential instructions to salespeople.

The most striking documents were written testimony from former employees of Trump University who said they had become disenchanted with the university’s tactics and culture. Corrine Sommer, an event manager, recounted how colleagues encouraged students to open up as many credit cards as possible to pay for classes that many of them could not afford.

“It’s O.K., just max out your credit card,” Ms. Sommer recalled their saying.

Jason Nicholas, a sales executive at Trump University, recalled a deceptive pitch used to lure students — that Mr. Trump would be “actively involved” in their education. “This was not true,” Mr. Nicholas testified, saying Mr. Trump was hardly involved at all. Trump University, Mr. Nicholas concluded, was “a facade, a total lie.”

Lawyers for Mr. Trump on Tuesday challenged those characterizations, saying that the testimony of the former Trump University employees “was completely discredited” in depositions taken for the California lawsuit. Lawyers for Mr. Trump declined to release those depositions on Tuesday.

As he has in the past, Mr. Trump argued through representatives that the complaints emanated from a small number of former students and that the vast majority had offered positive reviews of their experience.

“Trump University looks forward to using this evidence, along with much more, to win when the case is brought before a jury,” said Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for Mr. Trump.

The court records show the role that Mr. Trump — and his outsize reputation — played in trying to sell the real estate classes to thousands of students. Marketing materials bearing his signature encouraged prospective students to take advantage of a downturn in the housing market to earn quick profits. He offered the kind of assurances that financial advisers have long cautioned consumers to be wary of. “How would you like to market-proof your financial future,” Mr. Trump asked in one brochure.

Mr. Trump started the for-profit Trump University just as the overheated American housing market neared its peak, promising that its classes would impart his wisdom about real estate and moneymaking to the general public.

But dozens of complaints about the school rolled into the offices of attorneys general in Florida, Texas, New York and Illinois, officials said, prompting multiple investigations and, eventually, the lawsuit from former students in California.

Mr. Trump had fought Tuesday’s release of previously sealed documents in the case. In an apparent attempt to discredit the judge in the case, Gonzalo P. Curiel, Mr. Trump called him biased and a “hater of Donald Trump,” and he sought to draw attention to the judge’s ethnic background — “we believe Mexican,” Mr. Trump said. (Mr. Curiel was born in Indiana; he is of Mexican descent.)

On Friday, in response to a legal motion filed by The Washington Post, Judge Curiel ruled that the records be released. Some of the documents unsealed Tuesday were previously made public in connection with other lawsuits.

The internal guidebooks for employees of Trump University provide a detailed set of instructions for how to sell the classes, even to skeptical and reluctant consumers, by tapping into their psychological needs.

A chart outlines the stages of the “roller coaster of emotions” that a buyer will experience. (The “Blast” phase, it explains, is “giving your clients hope again.” The “Probe” phase, it says, must “slowly bring the client back down to reality.”)

When it comes to selling the classes, the guidebooks leave little to chance. Inside the rooms where students are asked to enroll in classes, workers are asked to “confirm that room temperature is no more than 68 degrees.”

Of course, Mr. Trump and the promise of his engagement with the school was the biggest draw of all. In the documents released Tuesday, instructors described themselves as “hand-selected” by Mr. Trump. But in a deposition related to the lawsuit, Mr. Trump acknowledged that he did not pick the instructors.

Not all the documents made public on Tuesday were critical. Many former students said the classes delivered exactly what they had expected. “Trump University definitely made me more prepared to tackle the ‘real world’ of real estate investing,” wrote David Wright Jr., who signed up for a six-month program. “We really learned a lot of from Trump University and have found a modicum of success,” wrote another student, Kissy Gordon.

Former employees like Ms. Sommer took a dimmer view of the school. In her testimony, she said she was startled by the qualifications of some Trump University instructors.

Ms. Sommer recalled that a member of the Trump University sales team, who had previously sold jewelry, was promoted to become an instructor. He had “no real estate experience,” she said.

She added that many of the instructors had the quality that the school seemed to value most: “They were skilled at high-pressure sales,” she said.

LOL, this video is a sales tool for the alarm company. Ingrid's "investigation" involved questioning the sales people there.

Also, the country "keeps no statistics of the rapists' heritage/race." So these refugees, who are all accounted for upon entering the country, are raping all their women but the police won't come to arrest them and when they do come to arrest them they don't bother to notate the defendant's status as a refugee and let him back into their society again without deporting him.

Ok, I think I got it. Makes perfect sense.
