The standards for vines have sure dropped, he basically clanked 2/5 stand still jumpers in the laziest fashion.

Marquese Chriss now #3

If we came out with Ingram and Maker, I'd be ecstatic.

Won't work out for anyone? You think you'd be excited to work out for the top two teams and meet the representatives.
He seems like a drama queen. Give me Ingram any day of the week.

KAT did not work out for anyone last year either. He just did an interview with Wolves I believe. That's probably smart, once you've cemented yourself as the top pick, anything you do can only work against you.

I don't think that's true. I think Mitch is on record saying the Lakers worked out KAT.
The Lakers have also become increasingly doubtful they will have a workout for Kentucky center Karl-Anthony Towns. The Lakers believe their lack of progress with those efforts stem from most NBA mock drafts predicting the Minnesota Timberwolves will select with their No. 1 pick. But the Lakers will accommodate their workout schedule should Towns and his representatives express interest in a workout.
Karl-Anthony Towns has resisted coming in for a private workout for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Towns has also declined a private workout for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Reports emerged in May that Towns would interview but not workout with either team.
Although there is a chance Kentucky center Karl-Anthony Towns will be selected by the Lakers with the No. 2 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, he won't be working out for the team beforehand.
The Kentucky big man isn’t working out for anyone privately except the Timberwolves, and the Lakers have given up expecting him to, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Guy just gives me awful vibes. I'd rather take the worker, the better character, etc -- all qualities that Ingram has.
For as good as Simmons has been, a big man who needs the ball in his hands, can’t stretch the floor, has a sub-standard reach, and doesn’t give great effort on defense isn’t necessarily going to make his team better if he doesn’t have the right supporting cast around him. As LSU is finding out, you can’t just plop him on a roster and expect him to single-handedly revive a team. Simmons is the odds-on favorite at the moment to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2016, but he’s not going to fit with the roster of all of the teams at the top of the lottery, and whoever drafts him may have to re-arrange their team in order to minimize his weaknesses and maximize his strengths.
Here’s a quick look at his possible fit on the bottom seven teams in the NBA standings:
Los Angeles Lakers — The problem with Simmons going to the Lakers is there doesn’t seem to be any way to play him and Julius Randle together. They are both PFs who are poor outside shooters and poor interior defenders who also need to play with the ball in their hands. They could put together a highlight reel of interior passing and above-the-rim finishing, but pairing two big men with sub 7-foot wingspans together would be a recipe for disaster defensively in the NBA.

The talent level & potential between Ingram & Simmons is not big enough to write off how he would fit. This is not about whether Simmons fits with the current roster, its about a PF with little to no scoring ability outside the paint and so far a subpar help defender. That stretch center better damn well be a good help defender also, and how many are those in the league right now?
This is not the Ben Simmons of a year ago who was a big 3 with a questionable jumpshot. This is Ben Simmons today who is an averaged size 4 with questionable defense and exposed as someone that has no perimeter game to speak of. (and some say regressed as shooter). And it is the reason why he went from near unanimous #1 pick to almost 50/50 with Ingram leading up to the lottery.

Rim protection isn't as important for a big as playing pick and roll defense in today's NBA as long as your guards are not turnstiles. You have a weird way of downgrading Simmons' game, calling him a 4 with no scoring game is like saying the niagara falls is just a rock with some water flowing off the top of it.
