I think a lot of fanbases give up way too quickly on these young players.

I can agree with that, definitely. Especially when your front office knowingly takes the route of rebuilding through drafts and trying to sustain something. A lot of people want to trade players they've seen only one or two years from.

uh yeah Scott Skiles could be in that catgeory. he didn't do much for are young talent. Vaughn also was't good as he was coaching for his job and just didn't want to trust in the young guys either. Vogel is a really good move in the opposite direction and I want to see how our young talent fares especially AG and Hezonja. I also think Vogel can do wonders for Payton and Oladipo.

I think AG and Dipo excelled under Skiles while Mario may have learned a great deal about defense and NBA team play as well.

Ag yeah and to some degree Dipo as well. But Skiles is notorious for not trusting young players. Tobias being one of them. I think Vogel is far more suited to dealing with players and letting them excel in a system that he built for guys that want to compete whether they are rookies or vets. Yeah Skiles did help. he is a good defensive coach. I just don't think he is the best for development and thus Vogel I think would have been better for our young guys. I think if we have had Vogel instead of Vaughn and Skiles I think are development would have been further along. Now I like Skiles more than Vaughn but I like Vogel a heck of a lot more and I wish he could have been around for the second years of Vuc and Tobias as well as the rookie years of Dipo and those that followed. But that wasn't possible so not going to give it that much credence but it is what is.

I am not so sure. Mario constantly talked about what Coach was teaching him each week. Thus, I think Skiles was very hands on with the young guys. He just wasn't gifting them any minutes that they didn't earn. But, he worked with them outside of games in practice extensively.

I didn't say he didn't help him at all. And of course Mario is going to say that. I don't think he is going to go and put his coach under the bus and admit to the media. But playing time is one of the biggest things u can do to help development. I am just saying is that Vogel is better.
