Hield needs to be the pick at #3. He's going to be a big time scorer.

I agree. I want Hield after thinking about it for the last few weeks. Hes my guy if one of ingrham or simmons doesnt drop to us and im not really sold on simmons either. Mentally fragile player

I think I'd rather have Murray but, I like Buddy a lot too.

How did Hield do athletically at combine? If he is just a but a over average he might be pick at 3. Just way too good a shooter to pass up.

Wish we had 5 picks in the top 10. Y'all have successfully talked me into liking your binkies.

He's one dimensional in more ways that one. Poor defender (can only guard 2s, and not very well right now). Not a solid passer. Historically speaking, players with his age/statistical profile coming out of college become role players in the NBA.

The NBA is all about creating space through shooting. Teams defend that by switching everything, thus you need to be able to defend more than one position if you want to be a heavy minute player. If you can't you're a specialist. Because Buddy has limited defensive versatility, it's going to impact how many minutes he can play on a good team. Additionally, while he can shoot well, and free up his shooting hand, he's not creating shots for others. Poor vision.

I see Jodie Meeks when I look at Buddy Hield. A shooting specialist with average athleticism who could top out as 7th or 8th man on a good team.

***
I just like guys who can play both ways. Guys who give you something every night, no matter whether the shots are falling or not. Somebody you can mix and match with and attack mismatches. Someone who can be effective on or off the ball. He's a late lottery pick IMO based on the how well he shot the ball last season and for all we know that was a prolonged hot streak. Wade Baldwin is the superior prospect between the 2, though almost assuredly he'll go later than Buddy.

Buddy's on my list of "Do Not Want" at #3, right along with Chriss and Brown.

Meh. Most prospects would have dominated college at soon to be 23 years old. Not really sold on Hield.

I certainly respect Hield's game, but if we pick him we need to trade a guard. Otherwise, he will have to compete with IT, AB, MS, RZ, and RJ for PT, which could hinder his development. We already have a cluster mess at our guard spots.

If we're hellbent on picking up another guard, I don't see any angle where Hield is the pick over Dunn.

Well if they want someone who can also shoot I think it's Murray over Hield since he's way younger. He was the best scorer in college coming off screens and picks which should be a transferable skill in the NBA. Dunn I think will be better than them both but if you have him you have to find a way to move Smart.

This is such a tough draft. I think Dunn is a sure thing. Sure thing star, all-star, I don't know, but he is going to be good. we could really be kicking ourselves in the ass for passing him up to invest more in Smart. I've got my fingers crossed that Bender is the right pick and pays off, but if not I'd be fine with trading the pick to slide back, scoop up extra assets and still get a shot at a Hield/Murray/Brown. Those guys are all fine lottery targets but they all leave me wanting more out of a third pick.

As far as Smart is concerned, I share the sentiment that this could be a sell-high point in his career. I certainly have no issues keeping him, but I have the same lack of apprehension with moving him for any number of options. His stagnant offensive development makes him a mark to be dealt if need be. Another situation nobody will be thrilled with is developing Smart to no avail and then having him come up for a payday in a few years, a plausible scenario. Drafting Dunn and moving our most recent high lottery pick is far from ideal but it could end up being the smartest path available. My (only) inkling for this draft is that Danny and co. are going to try their hardest to find a taker for the pick and get more value out of it than the potential gamble it represents.

Please let the Sixers take Simmons.

Please let the Lakers pick one of Bender, Dunn, Hield.

Ingram to the Celtics

Could agree with that unless they think Murray has more versatility.

Three weeks!

Seems like a lot of uncertainty around this draft so should be fun.

Smart reminds me of a smaller Rodman. He brings 100% effort and very good defense (4 positions - pg to pf) and influences the game without scoring.

He needs to cut his number of shots until he fixes his shot.

I would trade him only for an established star - George or Butler.
