Have a nice mix of widespread, the dead, phish, and moe. Rocking right now

We were just going to get my gf's passport expedited. I hate driving up there and the drive back down to Portland sucks even worse. Doing it again tomorrow, going to Wild Waves.

I like this guy. Watched a couple more of his. He's good. I like rap, but don't follow it other then what I happen to hear, but I really like this and will have to look into this guy.

Seriously, Tech is the best in the rap game right now. All independent too, he co-owns his own label (Strange Music). Ive been listening to him since back in 96 when i first heard his song "Questions". Ive been to 4 of his concerts and met him twice, real cool down to earth guy.

Also Hopsin as AMAZING!

This one is straight ryhmes with no chorus questioning religion:

This one is talking s**t about weak rappers and the people listening to them:

And his newest one, talking about his Labels co-owner (and his manager) screwing him out of money and ruining their bond and company (Funk Volume):

And one of the funniest videos of the year, making fun of how bad most rappers are today:

Funny you mention because I watched the Tech one again and Hopsin just was the next on auto and it was good rap. Tech seems to have good lyrics which is a bit different from a lot of rappers.

Seriously his lyrics are amazing. Talks about a lot of stuff that other rappers wont even touch. Isnt a sell out either, thats why the only song of his that has really gotten any radio play is "Hood Gone Crazy". I think in the beginning it was due to him coloring his hair bright red and paining his face, which he has kinda slowed down on doing. It made him too weird for people, especially black folk. Also it amazes me that around 90% of his and his labels fanbase is white. He even made a song called Breaking Into Colored Houses which talks about that fact.

But since he has a lot of white fans, it has allowed him to experiment alot more with what he wants. Growing up he was a huge fan of the Doors, hence naming his label Strange Music. He even has a song that he recorded with the remaining members of the doors. He had a whole EP that was a rock/rap colab. Did a song with Serj from System of a Down, so he has been able to explore other areas that most rappers cant and wont go.

Just saw this thread, I'm getting nostalgic and listening to older Breaking Benjamin. Occasionally Chevelle.

And I'm not sure this fits with all the alternative rock/jazz/rap/grunge (though I have a VERY wide range of music including all of them Tool to stuff like this) but I thought this was interesting. I hadn't paid attention to Ben Folds in a while, but I used to be a fan..he was a piano guy with a band who had an indie album a while back, then dropped the band and went solo, and around that time I saw him at the Cajun House (not sure if anyone remembers that or if it still exists...it was about 15 years ago) in downtown Scottsdale...he was amazing live. But recently I guess he had a new album and it is with an instrumental group called yMusic and my brother saw him live and told me to look at this video....thought it was cool to incorporate that many instruments.....
