Really hope we don't draft ellenson...just think he doesn't have that high of a potential, at best I think he's a Meyers Leonard type of player...don't see him having a high ceiling. Would rather draft skal of the top 8 holds
you have nothing to worry about LOL
What makes you say that ?

Ellenson is an okay defender. He gets undue hate on here because he's white.Spoiler:

Or its because hes terribly slow, lacks explosiveness and struggles guarding on the perimeter and inside. Dude has the heaviest feet in the NCAA, he will get blown by every guard in the NBA. Pick n Roll defense is the biggest need in the NBA. Why do you think no matter how good JV is, Biyombo played those minutes down the stretch. Highlights are highlights (does not show deficiencies) and not to mention his inconsistency at shooting.

He's not terribly slow, he's 7 foot, 240 lbs. What the hell do you expect? He's actually not bad for his size. He'll drop some weight, and be a better athlete once you get him in the gym. Lowry transformed himself over a summer, and Ellenson can do the same.
And no question that the NBA is a steep learning curve for a big man. Biyombo and JV needed years to develop but Ellenson isn't some lost cause, he's only 19 years old! And the advanced stats say he's not as bad as people like to think.
He's certainly shown way more from outside than guys like Skal or Davis ever showed in college, but I bet ppl think they can improve on that in the league, right? The double standards are embarrassing around here.

Come on man.. You can't teach athleticism. Lowry was a crazy athlete in college. He tore his ACL was still dunking at 6'0 feet tall. You can't expect to lose a couple pounds and automatically be able to run like the gazelles in the NBA. Doesn't work that way. Show me your advance stats that say he's alright defensively. At best he can become a Scola on defense, learn how to use his strength and positioning once he develops but against the faster 4s. He'll be a pylon, let's be real here.

Agreed. You can make small increases to speed, vertical jump etc. through training, but you can't go from a stiff to a solid athlete. Unless you're really overweight and are simply out of shape with a weak heart, you're not going to move a great deal quicker.

Korkmaz is my pick for steal of the draft.
