Now Fournier is someone who doesn't defend a lick.

Hawks President said this is much ado about nothing. That Atlanta been talking to a lot of teams but nothing should be taken too seriously this early in the process.

Jrue Holiday (Post All-Star season) traded for pick 6 (Noel)
Noel has 1 quiet(ish) season after looking like at worst a 10/10/2/2/2 threat for the rest of his career
Trade Noel for a 29YO point guard approaching UFA status.
Anyone able to explain how this works well for the 6ers?
Teague is a definite upgrade over Ish Smith, but big for small trades seldom ever workout for the team trading for a small, and particularly in this scenario where Noel has all the pro's (age, contract, potential)
Again, just an outside observer who is a fan of the assets you have assembled, and while I understand it's time to wheel and deal to structure the team in a more balanced manner, I think there's got to be a better scenario out there for you!
I don't disagree. But Teague is still 27 (yes, turns 28 very soon). I think there are plenty of better scenarios and don't see this one unfolding anyway. Who knows where rumors start or what is talked about.
Who knows but I wished it wasn't leaked on both sides.

Re: Jeff Teague for Nerlens Noel discussed, not imminent
Noel for Shroeder makes perfect sense. Both have great potential, both have 1 year left on their rookie deals. That is a fair trade.
Teague is old, expensive, and can walk after 1 year. Why?

Interesting, you have link? Not doubting you, just interested to read/hear.

Teague is actually a better fit than Schroeder skill-wise, it is really his contract status and his age a bit that make me want someone else. I'd rather have Dunn than Schroeder.

Re: Jeff Teague for Nerlens Noel discussed, not imminent
This trade is absurd if Teague is just a rental. If I were GM, I would never pull the trigger on that without a guarantee.
However, since I am not GM and I am unsure of BC's competence, I would support this just to end the Okafor trade talk. Giving up a good role-player for zilch is worth if if it guarantees that we won't give up on a potential cornerstone player so soon.

The more Okafor and Noel's name get out there, the better I believe. Find someone in the top 5 taking harder looks at Dunn, Hield, and Murray and maybe they'll see that Noel or Okafor already proven would be a better fit for their team. That's my optimistic view anyway.

I would trade Noel to pick Hield in a heartbeat.

I feel like we as fans are sometimes overly attached to our own players and have a perceived value of what we think should be the return for our players, which may not be the case in the actual NBA.
I mean, ATL fans sure don't seem to have a problem with the value here.
Not hyped on trading Teague, I mean, he's our best PG by a mile but we got two PG's and we need talent in other positions. We don't have a big off the bench who's as good as Noel. Not one. Some fans in our base are mad but far more are like me. This is the value we must get for Jeff or just keep him.

So if I understand this correctly, Nerlens Noel for Jeff Motherfreaking Teague is not value?
Wow.

On a side note, I'm not sure I like the sound of "shopping Noel and Okafor to 15 teams." Let teams call you, don't call them. You lose leverage that way. Coming off what desperate and whatnot.

Hield is so overrated it is laughable at this point. He is going to flame out of the league after his rookie deal.

Not something I do as a fan. These days I either get what I want or I stop watching and boycott.
If they start screwing things up, I will dedicate my time and attention elsewhere. Much like I did for the Phillies the last 3 years.

Hield is not overrated when spotting up for open 3's. He'll be getting at least 5-7 open looks a night between Simmons and Jah.

He's going to be 28 in a week (June 10th), that's about when players begin to descend from their primes... 25-27 are generally player's primes, that's typically when they're at their best, productivity wise.
At what position? Most PG's are going into their prime from 28-32. And can play at a high level till 37. Especially the ones who are cerebral. Look at Kyle Lowry and Billups for example. Nowadays, players are maintaining their quickness into their mid 30s.

You don't trade Nerlens Noel for a skill you can get from Hollis Thompson.
You don't trade Nerlens Noel for a one-dimensional 22-year old when that one dimension is something that is available for far less capital.
