Buckwild is an underrated producer. He has some timeless gems which are barely known due to them being B-side remixes for mid-tier 90s artists.

I've been in a Grateful Dead rabbit hole for a few weeks at work and I made a live Grateful Dead playlist on Spotify. They have 100s of live Dead albums on Spotify with dozens of versions of every song.

With the help of amazing headyversions website http://headyversion.com, where they crowdsource the best versions of each Dead song, I picked my favorite version of each song to make one large 80+ song playlist set up like multiple concerts in a row. If anyone is interested, here is the webplayer link: https://play.spotify.com/user/fatlever/playlist/2Cxkr9Kfg5YvXVsGGTjNC1

or find it by searching "Fats Live Grateful Dead Playlist"

Note: lots of songs segue, so better listened to in order.

I hope it's alright that I'm being totally shameless and sharing some of my own music... I perform a live looping show, where I improvise dance music on stage using a plethora of electronic machines. :) Here's a link to a recording of a set I performed in Oregon last fall that I'm super happy with: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLelhQwxla1LPKmRo1KIwGwKb0eF6nn3W1 It's cut up into 3 videos - the first is the intro to my technical setup (which I have embedded right below), the second is an exploration of harmonic/melodic worlds (embedded below the first vid), and the third is an exploration of more textural stuff (gotta follow the link above for that). I'd love to know what you guys think if you have any critiques/feedback!!!

The sound quality on YouTube just doesn't do Steely Dan justice. To this day, there is not a better sounding production quality album than Steely Dan's Aja from the late 70s. Its my go to album whenever I test out a new sound system/headphones etc...

Anyway, here's a song about jazz legend Charlie Parker's. Only 2:45 seconds long, but loaded with high energy goodness.

Savoy sides presents a new saxophone sensation
It's Parker's band with a smooth style of syncopation
Kansas City born and growing
You won't believe what the boys are blowing

You got to come on man
And take a piece of Mister Parker's band

You'll be riding by, bareback on your armadillo
You'll be grooving high or relaxing at Camarillo
Suddenly the music hits you
It's a bird in flight that just can't quit you

You got to come on man
And take a piece of Mister Parker's band

We will spend a dizzy weekend smacked into a trance
Me and you will listen to
A little bit of what made the preacher dance

Bring your horn along and you can add to the pure confection
And if you can't fly you'll have to move in with the rhythm section
Either way you're bound to function
Fifty-Second Street's the junction

You got to come on man
And take a piece of Mister Parker's
Clap your hands and take a piece of Mister Parker's
Come on man and take a piece of Mister Parker's band

Trey playing the orchestrated portion of Reba during Mike's Song from Phish at the Roxy '93 is blowing my mind.

That series of shows is unbelievable. Spotify is the greatest.

I finally signed up for Spotify premium yesterday. You can get first 3 months for 99 cents a piece. The sound quality is much better.

my first Phish show was 2 days before that Roxy Atlanta run in 93, at the Benton Convention Center in Winston Salem.

First row, with maybe 500 people in attendance.

I might have to listen to that Roxy box set again tomorrow at work.

do any of you use the "listen offline" feature of Spotify premium? Thinking about downloading one of my playlists to my phone for an upcoming trip where I might need some offline entertainment for a while.

I think you're probably in the majority. YB and I are definitely in the minority with our tastes in jambands.

Nah, Its been several years since I went to any shows. I'm too much of a hermit these days. If I wasn't such a hermit, I'd drag my ass up to Virginia in August for Lockn festival. That lineup is ridiculous. My boss is married to a old school deadhead. He drags her to shows all the time. She took the day off work to go to the show.

I assume you didnt go, since you made this post at 9:30.

[checking set list now]
