Depends on what the team is looking for, they are very different players. He will be able to price out of the Clippers range though, I think someone will offer him at least $6-7 million for a role that might be larger than being Redick's backup. Still, entertaining the idea, the bench still lacks a player with a playmaking mentality which is what makes things a little difficult. Austin is best defensively at PG, but offensively he's not a PG.
If you have Austin/Lee as your backup PG/SG, and we know Doc will play all bench lineups, you will have issues with playmaking from the bench as Lee is not really a playmaker or one that does too much ball handling.
So unless the team gets a bench SF that is playmaker that might not be the best choice.
Jamal is not a PG and does not have a passing mentality, but he can at least acts as a primary ball handler / bench first option.
They could try getting a PG, put Austin as the bench SG. A guy like Tim Frazier seems interesting too along with a possible healthy Jack and Sloan, but that makes more sense if Jamal is no there, though I suppose they could run three guards off the bench with Jamal as a bench "SF", but I don't think too many of us love that so much.
I like the idea of no Jamal, get a PG off the bench. Seems like Doc wants to bring Green back and start him, so play a rookie wing off the bench at the 3?, and please don't go small with the bench because their rebounding was REALLY bad last season.
Also there's Wilcox, though we really don't know what he can do at the NBA level, well, he can shoot...I think

honestly with doc's general usage of small lineups, no matter how awful it is strategically, i don't really think he'll ever go away from them.
