3 all stars.

Still manage to keep a top 8 pick.

Possibly a top 6 west team.

Have a scorer at every spot.

If that team wins 50 games... Doesnt matter if some fans hate it or not.

Sarver might be getting desperate.

I only see 1 all star there in PG. To me Howard looks about done. Each year he is regressing. I like getting PG but why are we getting rid of Booker, Warren and our top pick to do so? I am not bashing you at all because again I like seeing what you come up with but I really don't like the idea of trading our best assets (Booker, Warren and 4).

Sign or draft a pf.
Sign or draft another pf.
Sign a distributing back up pg.

Get a star player, of any kind, to go anywhere except maybe sg.

Knight has to be willing to be the 6th man. Granted, lot of money for a 6th man but so be it - move on BK and help the team

I agree that the next phase of this teams growth is both signing and drafting a PF.

Bled/Book/George/Jones/Len
Archie/Knight/Bogdon/MT3/Chandler

Still don't know why Bird would break up a team right in the thick of things in the east with a future frontcourt of something like George/Deyonta Davis and Myles Turner. They took Toronto to 7 who took Cleveland to 6 and made ECF two years ago before George was out last year. Paul George is far more untouchable than say, Booker.

If knight would embrace a Jamal Crawford career path he could be really successful. Just be a gunner against second units and not have to be responsible for being the main facilitator.

With the spiking cap were gonna start seeing bench players making over 10 mil per so I don't really see his salary being too much of an issue. Now unfortunately I think he still believes he's a starting pg and will probably have to fail at it another season or so before he embraces the bench.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Unfortunately, i think it's highly unlikely. With Bogdan surely it's the green that's holding him back. This could probably mean that McD will be more open to drafting guys like Murray/Hield/Dunn with our highest pick, but (sadly) he will be aggressive in the free agency and we pretty much know how that looks like - ending with a few mediocre to decent guys good enough just to give us enough wins to miss the playoffs closely and leave us empty handed as the draft day approaches.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. When McD aims for mediocre that usually means a high pick.

If #4/Knight for Jah is an overpay I'd try to get that 2019 Kings pick. Knight has more value to the Suns with Bogdan not coming over whereas before I figured they'd trade Knight, draft a PG at #13 and bring over Bogdan. Maybe swap one of Philly's later picks with #13 and draft Ulis or Barber. If the situations were swapped I'd damn near consider that Kings' pick untouchable though.

I mean imagine having possibly 3 unprotected picks between 2019-2021 and being closer to contention by then. It'd be like the current Celtics' situation.

Btw: We did the same thing a few years ago, remember our 48 wins? But it was in the West. The Celts do not even have one star.

They have Brad Stevens and an actual system their players buy into. They have the supporting cast of supersubs/3&D role players to surround whoever they can land with that treasure trove

Jones had a horrible year. No way he gets $12 mil imo. I say that hoping we sign him too.

Can I start a "players I don't get the fascination with" list?

For me:
Thad Young
Terrence Jones

and of course...the old mainstay, Terrence Williams. That one's for you, Kerrsed :D

That is true however we are one or two players away from a potential playoff run. I don't want to make the playoffs quite this early but we will get better after this draft.

Then we can start dealing our assets for viable players in whichever system we decide is the best fit. Has anyone heard about what our FO wants to do about an actual offensive/defensive scheme? What about a long term coach that would draw free agents?

Kinda inclined to agree with it because that was the most lolwtf value trade in McD's tenure. It made no sense.

He also said that McD wanted to keep Marcus, but Horny wanted him gone regardless of whether LMA signed or not. If they had waited to pull the trigger on the Marcus trade until after LMA made his decision, the whole year would have been markedly different. McD then went on to take the heat from the Morri while Jeff looked like the good guy.

I doubt McD makes that mistake again. He is going to stick to his own instincts.

It made sense to trade him though. I don't think Hornacek was wrong in wanting IT traded. One of Bledsoe-Dragic-Thomas had to be traded because it clearly wasn't working. Do you trade Dragic who was coming off a All-NBA season? Do you trade Bledsoe who was McD's star signing/trade? Or do you trade the insurance policy who's now taking shots, minutes and efficiency from your star players? Hornacek couldn't play all 3, so it was only natural for him to want one of the three to be traded.

We all knew Thomas was great value when he was signed. Even when he was playing for us, he was definitely worth his contract. So for him to further outperform his contract, that just makes McD look worse. In my mind, now that Hornacek is no long affiliated with the Suns, it's just an opportunity to the front office to be put back in better light amongst the fans.

Envious of the Celtics? It is summer time guys, way too nice outside to LOOK for a reason to be depressed.
