Re: Piston All-Time Fantasy League : Lionlifer (1) vs. Han Solo (8)
Well, I'm going to go with Han Solo on this one.
These 2 teams are both quite good, which is why its a shame we didn't get to hear either of them plead their case.
Stackhouse and Thomas simply comes off as a wonky fit- I see Stack being a little bit lost in an offense run by Isiah. Despite that ripple, the rest of Lionlifer's team is actually very well constructed and balanced. It just doesn't quite pack the defensive punch that Han Solo's does, and with Dumars and Dantley and a pretty decent bench I think there's just enough offense there to balance things out.

Re: Piston All-Time Fantasy League : Lionlifer (1) vs. Han Solo (8)
Isiah is the best player here and makes this quite competitive. But the defense, blend, and DNA seem to favor Han Solo, and I'd take them in a series that could go seven.

Re: Piston All-Time Fantasy League : Lionlifer (1) vs. Han Solo (8)
Tale of the Talent Comparison......
Thomas > Rodman - Thomas is the POAT - enough said. Advantage, Lifer
Stackhouse < Dumars - barely - Stack's peak (30 ppg) was damn impressive. Advantage, Solo
Mahorn < Dantley - AD posted up the league while in Detroit. Advantage, Solo
Monroe > Salley - I need to take a shower over this one. Advantage, Lifer
Morris = Knight - I feel like it will be Morris in a year, but for now, it's a push
Okur = Johnson - too close to call - push
Stuckey = Polynice - I need another shower - fake numbers on lousy teams - push
Benson > Atkins - both peaked on crappy teams and became more useless as the teams got better. Advantage, Lifer
Hubbard > Jerebko - Hubs brought the Pistons Bill Laimbeer, and was a good NBA player for a few seasons. Advantage, Lifer
Lee < Meeks - Meeks had that awesome game against Orlando. Lee had no such games. Advantage, Solo
Four to Lifer, three to Solo, three push - no significant difference, so we can't decide on talent alone.
Let's try positions......
Point guard - Thomas and Lee against Knight and Atkins - Advantage, Lifer
Shooting guard - Stackhouse and Stuckey against Dumars and Meeks - Advantage, Lifer (Stuckey >>> Meeks)
Small forward - Morris and Hubbard against Dantley and Johnson - Advantage, Solo
Power forward - Mahorn and Benson against Rodman and Jerebko - Advantage, Solo
Center - Monroe and Okur against Salley and Polynice - Advantage, Lifer
Three positions to Lifer, two to Solo
Two slight edges to Lifer - but the trump card is Thomas - who wants to win more than Isiah? I choose Lifer in seven games.......

I like both of these teams but going to wait on write-ups.
Side note: I would love to see Stanley spend a summer with Adrian Dantley and learn a few of his moves.

Good matchup here. No one had a better draft through 4 rounds than Han Solo. (Rodman, Dumars, Dantley, Salley). Between Rodman, Polynice & Salley, there won't be (m)any second chance opportunities for Lionlifer, while Han Solo will see a fair number of them. And he may need them, because after Dumars and Dantley, there's not a lot of scoring on this team. By contrast, the offensive potential for Lionslifer is impressive, with 6 guys who can legit fill it up, including the best player on the floor. But Han Solo's defensive potential is also impressive, with Rodman & Dumars leading the charge. Dantley will have a huge series as Han Solo's offensive focal point, but not sure he'll be enough. Lionslifer in a close 7.

Joe v Zeke
Rodman v Mahorn
AD v Stack
Salley v Monroe
Some nice match ups there.
I think Lion's group fits together better though and when you've got the GPOAT it's tough to argue against

Re: Piston All-Time Fantasy League : Lionlifer (1) vs. Han Solo (8)
Sorry worked all weekend, without further delay:
Team Lifer, and why they will wreck the competition
Imagine if you will a starting lineup of Zeke, Stack, Morris, Mahorn, and Monroe. The offense would be insane, 4 of the 5 can legitimately fill it up like there is no tomorrow. Zeke would be wrecking lives creating looks for others, and if all else fails, just give the ball to Stack and let him GET BUCKETS. Stack, Morris and to a lesser extent Thomas provide the spacing so that if needed, Monroe and Mahorn can go to work and get post/garbage points. It shouldn’t be hard to get points on this team, and with good ball movement starting with the back court, it will be death by a thousand cuts.
Rebounding isn’t exactly a concern either, in the rare event that they do miss. Between Morris, Mahorn, and Monroe, you are looking at a wing and front court over 6’9” that averages 5, 8, and 10 RPG. Not Drummond/Rodman numbers, but nothing to sneeze at either. Backourt will chip in 4.5 and 3.9 boards as well.
On the defensive end, good luck playing inside out. Mahorn is the defensive anchor for the team, and will help cover some of Monroes defensive issues with sheer determination and grit. You’re now trying to initiate the offensive from the outside with the always pesky Zeke, and the underrated Stack picking pockets and being pests. Throw in Morris and his ability to defend the likes of LeBron and DeRozan, and you have an effective counter for pick and rolls involving 2’s and 3’s, and a solid man defender as well.
The bench mob is no slouch either. Stuckey is playing his role as a 2, so he doesn’t need to worry about initiating the offense. Mehmet plays super sub for the 4/5 position, with .375 3% shooting causing all sorts of issues for the big man tasked with defending him. Dude posted an 18.3 per in his second season, and was a plus defender at 6-11, the ideal complement to the range limited Monroe and Mahorn. Speaking of plus defenders, if Monroes man is lighting him up, enter Benson and his improved defense, not to mention 12 point 8 board stat line. Really have a lot of options up front with these two. Backing up Morris (and in a smiliar role) is Phil Hubbard. Dude was 14.5 and 7 on .491 eFG%. Finally we have Ron Lee to spell Zeke when he needs a breather. All I want him to do is get the ball to others (7 assist per games), and not get toasted by the man he’s guarding (2.9 defensive win shares).
No doubt the strength of this team is offense, and with the number of looks we can throw at you, good luck matching us.
Zeke>>>>>Knight
Stack=Dumars (And it’s sssooo close)
Morris<Dantley (Morris is more all around, Dantley brings the offense)

Vote: Lionlifer.
Not sold on Han's team offensively, and he's kind of forced to play Knight too much considering how well Zeke can pressure the ball and considering Dumar's isn't an elite ball-handler.

My team will out hustle yours every day of the week. Your team is one of the better teams. I still don't see it working out with 4 ball dominant players in your starting lineup. 2 of my starting five I don't even need to score anything other than garbage points. Salley will block Monroe's weak ass garbage. Rodman will rebound everything. We will run full court press and be aggressive on perimeter defense. On offense my team will be about ball movement and finding the open shooter. Dumars, Knight, and Dantley will be my primary scorers. I can run the pick and roll with Salley, and Rodman was much more crafty around the hoop than given credit for. When I need to go to my bench, I'll use Stanley as my 6th man (SG,SF) and Chucky Atkins at point. Olden Polynice will see minutes at center.. Jerebko will get some minutes at PF.
My team is built as a team that will out work the opposition, that's how this team will win. i have a legitimate first threat with Dantley, and some good spot up shooters with Dumars and Knight.
My X-Factor is Dennis Rodman, this team will get many 2nd chance points and I'll have the best defender in the history of the NBA in his prime. Good Luck!!
