Would take Reggie Evans in a heartbeat at 35. I would take Reggie Evans at 23.

Really wish we had signed him for the playoff run

Big kid who had a nice year at Louisville. His older brother Arinze played at Syracuse and has bounced around the D-league for a few years.

Thanks for the info. First time I had noticed his name on a draft board. I'm not a big college basketball fan, but I especially avoid Louisville games. Can't stand watching or listening to Rick Pitino.

Onuaku is probably the best US-born center prospect in the draft. He played somewhat limited minutes but has true NBA center size/athleticism, has great touch at the rim (so did his brother Arinze), protects the tin, and showed a penchant to make good passes out of the post (not uncommon at LVille - see Gorgui Dieng).

Poeltl is the most polished offensively, but I think Onuaku has the potential to be a legit stud thanks to his superior athleticism, rebounding and rim protection.

7-3 wingspan, 6-10 / 245, only 19 years old. Per-40:

Onuaku - 7.2/11.6 FG/FGA (62%), 16.1 PPG, 13.8 RPG, 3.3 BPG, 2.7 APG, 3.4 TO/G

Just For fun, how far would this team go in the East playoffs? Regular season record? How many games can they take the Cavs in a series?

IT / Rozier
Butler / Bradley
Crowder / Turner
Horford / Olynyk
Johnson / Mickey

I think they could take the Cavs to 6 much like Toronto did this year but ultimately they'd lose.

That's radically incorrect.

http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/gamecent/p/pid/6054716/playerview.html

77.6% FT shooter; 35% 3 point shooter with a solid improvement last year - 42.6% 3pt shooting, up from 27.5% the season before. Considering his age (and the longer FIBA line relatively to college), he projects to be a good shooter.

2.5 personal fouls per game in 29 minutes, not even remotely foul prone: only one game the entire season where he reached a 5th foul, played the full game or closed to it several times: http://www.lnb.fr/fr/Pro-A/200010/Stats-Joueurs/A54716/fiche?type=1&from=2015&stat=m

The comparison with Reggie Evans is absurd. Yabusele is good, but far from spectacular, on the offensive boards and an okay defensive rebounder at best. Will never be considered an asset in the boards, let alone anything resembling a Reggie Evans impact. Defense, including low post, is fairly weak. Not turnover prone, good passer. Yabusele is a player of offensive flair, good at everything but not great in any particular aspect, who can survive on the boards and has never showed any sort of defensive talent and often displays little effort. Evans at his peak was a rebounding monster with quality post defense, very aggressive overall defensively and strictly a hustle garbage man offensively. They're closer to be polar opposites than similar. The only thing they have in common are the wide tough screens.

I'll have to check the numbers on Yabusele I saw. My apologies if what I posted was incorrect.

I want Yanusele. 270 pound stretch 4-5 who can be a space eater.. I think he can be useful off the bench.

Has the potential to be a huge defensive liability in the NBA though and right now I don't see him being good enough on the other side to make up for that deficit - perhaps Brad Stevens can coach him up defensively and minimize his weaknesses, Boston might be a good for him. Probably makes more sense to keep him a couple more years in Europe till he consolidates his 3pt shooting and shows some defensive progress.

So, he's basically Jared Sullinger?

Sounds more like Boris Diaw. Wide body, creative offensively, not a great scorer but has range, not a great rebounder or defender. And French

Yabusele is a lot fitter than Diaw ever was. Also more athletic with better measurments, has more potential, imo, cause he's only 20 and has better tools to work with.
Good assessment:

I believe Diaw was always a better passer. Also, Diaw actually used to be skinny and athletic.

true, i was talking about today's Fat Diaw not Skinny Diaw when he first came into the L.

but hell i'd take any Diaw with a 2nd round pick... especially with stashability...

Yes, but minus the superior athleticism. Only average in that department so I worry about his ceiling. I think he's underrated still.

My prior post on Yabusele was my bad. Thought I had used 2014 numbers but even then he was 71% from the line and has a decent stroke from the outside. Maybe I had him confused with someone else.

Yabusele is a considerably better prospect than I thought he was. Diaw is not a good comparison. Sullinger is closer, but Sullinger has a better handle.

So it's fair to say that he's developed into a reliable shooter with a good but not great all around skillset? Provides a fair opportunity to be a decent role player on the right team?

He's not DeAndre Jordan but he has plenty of lift.
