We've got a tie, so I did a totally unscientific eyeballing of the discussion and saw a bit more support for Furkan Korkmaz. Thanks for playing.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I watched Brice Johnson all year in the ACC (I live 5 minutes from UNC) and can't imagine him being more than a role player in the NBA. He's an average defender and shooter, can't handle the ball or pass, and his best attribute is his athleticism. He also has some maturity issues which is surprising given his age (nothing evil, just dumb mistakes on the court). Taking him at #16 would be a waste IMO, and as a UNC fan I like the guy.

I didn't propose him at 16. Better prospects available then. Just said I thought he could be a solid rotational guy.

My bad, guess I misinterpreted your post.

No worries my man. Always useful to get info from fans who watch players all year (where the rest of us are resigned to a few game or cut ups). Didn't know about the attitude thing.

Celtics_History_Lesson wrote:Crazy ideas for picks, although that happens in the real drafts too.

4 PHO Jamal Murray - They have two expensive combo-guards and also Booker at shooting guard, obviously they need someone the exact same.

7 DEN Kris Dunn - As was mentioned, after getting one lotto big point guard who can't shoot, they want another.

8 SAC Denzel Valentine - Jimmer, Stauskas, McLemore, the annual tradition of picking a shooting guard and failing him at the Kings.

9 TOR Marquese Chriss - A win-now team adds another project to the many projects who never play, Lowry along with Scola and J Johnson will be retired before Chriss, Caboclo and Noguiera are ready for big minutes.

10 MIL Deytona Davis - It would be like drafting John Henson for a bench role, when they already have that.

11 ORL Jakob Poeltl - While he is the best center in the draft, he is also the one that is nearly identical to Nikola Vucevic and they probably could not play on the floor together.

12 UTA Skal Labissiere - He doesn't seem like someone who would sign to stay in Utah if he ever became a good player.

I also don't like most of the poll options. No Stone or Zimmerman, no Croatian or Chinese centers, picking other is probably wasting the pick although that is better than the combined options. On my draftboard, Sabonis would be highest. For the Celtics, considering the first selection, I will go other with Zizic.

Agreed. This mock is really all over the place. (don't mean that as a shot to you, the teams forums are picking themselves right? lol).

& ^^ I agree with everything you said, except the Toronto pick. I agree with your point too, but its just they have a young back up 1-2-3 in Wright, Powell, Ross, Caboclo. They can use a stretch 4 with a high ceiling, & there's not a lot of "draft ready players for them that actually fill a need. So why not take the positional need with a really high ceiling? That's the only reason why I can see them going the stretch 4 w/ upside pick (Chriss, or Labissieri type guy).

Those not voting for Korkmaz/Sabonis/Zizic - change your vote to break the tie.

I voted for Murray but Korkmaz would be my second choice.
I brings the ruckus to the ladies!
