i just hope they can get him for sub-max.

Horford is just as unrealistic as Durant in my opinion. Celtics are going to have to overpay just to get Horford interested just to have a chance. That means offer the max.

Nothing is realistic or unrealistic. All that decides it is if the guy wants to be here. If KD, Jimmy, and Horford want to be here together, they'll be here.

You can choose to believe me or not, but FWIW, I have a reliable source(who was called multiple deals before) who said that Boston offered the Clippers the #3 pick for DeAndre Jordan. I think Clips would consider it since they're getting a cheap, young talent plus it frees up a max slot to chase, say, Kevin Durant. But I'm not sure how serious this is.

Out of curiosity why was this not posted on the Clippers' board?

3 for Deandre Jordan? I'd do that, it's a major upgrade to the front court, he's still young, and we'd be the best defensive team in the league and jump into the lead for free agents- Durant, Horford, Ryan Anderson.

With the "Hack a Shaq" rule changing it's a no brainer. Yes every day of the week.

depends what the outgoing filler is for me, but generally yeah, 3 for DJ. I like it.

I am going to check into back channels and see if I can find out if there is any validity to this. If so, DJordan must be one of the top guys KD wants to play with.
Makes sense that he could be.

Side note...Doc really likes Jae. I wonder if Jae/#3 would be the centerpiece in a deal like this.

If KD doesn't eventuate I just want to say I appreciate your posting on the matter and it has given me hope on KD coming to Boston

If the Jordan rumour has any substance to it (and also if there is actual interest from the Clippers side), it is interesting they would trade they guy who is always healthy and doesn't cause any trouble for team mates or the organisation in general.

Also, filler would not really need to be included as the Celtics have enough cap room to just absorb Jordan without sending anything back, no?

I don't know what other pieces would be involved. I do know that DJ and KD are friends, so maybe Doc trades Blake for picks and frees up room to team up KD with DJ and CP.

Eh, 3/Jae seems like a major overpay. Crowder/Amir/16/23 seems fair, and would actually let the Clippers add some depth and chase someone like Dwight Howard to play the 5..

Danny should walk away at that point, i'd rather swing and miss with the pick and keep my mega cheap wing player.

Amir Johnson plus #3 is the most i'd pay and personally i don't even like that deal. DeAndre dunks look awesome but i've a hard time seeing him effective without CP3.

Rebounding/Defense and durable AF. He is exactly what this team needs at the centre position and with the rule change he can play at the end of games.

DeAndre Jordan would massively fill a void here: intimidation, rebounding. We haven´t had a player like him in a looooooooong time. So yes, he is worth that #3 pick. That said, he only does that. So in order for us to overpay for him we need more offensive players. In other words: yes to DJ if Durant comes here.

I'm going to go ahead and say I'm highly skeptical of the inside nature of this. No doubt Doc and the Celtics have had discussions about trades, but the Clippers board has no mention of this at all.

In fact, their trade thread hasn't been posted in since April.

So if Kevin Durant and the #3 pick were remotely on the table, I'd think that would be discussed there somehow.

In fact, I'd find it more believable if it was trading one of DJ/Blake for cap space to sign LeBron to make the super friends team.

I'm gunna call BS on this rumor.

1) Danny wasn't offering the Brooklyn pick pre-lottery for Deandre Jordan.
2) Doc wouldn't even have considered it-- Griffin was hurt for pretty much the rest of the season, and trading Deandre would pretty much tank their season.
3) Doc saw first hand the impact of trading a well liked Center mid season, and how detrimental it could be to a teams chemistry. I doubt he would make that decision given his past.

Now, trading Jordan at this junction could allow them to get under the cap to sign KD (if they revoked all cap holds), so it's possible it could come to fruition this offseason.

Also, to those blasting the Giddens situation-- I agree. We also got effed by David Stern, because we should've had Deandre (and arguably Bledsoe) for KG and Pierce, but he blocked it. I'm okay with the BKN pick consolation prize though.

Deandre is a really good player and fills a big need. But that being said, adding Deandre doesn't make us a contender in the East. Plus he's 28 years old. I don't get the logic of trading a high lottery pick for him. Especially adding in one of our younger guys .. Come on fellas. Logic. And don't give me that "it'll attract KD" line either. If it did, then KD would be signing with the Clips.

I'd move back if I could pick up Noel too:

Boston in: #7, Noel
Boston out: #3, #16, #23, #31

Denver: #3, #31
Denver out: 7, #15, #19

Philly in: #8, #23
Philly out: Noel

Sac in: #15, #16, #19
sac out: #8

We take whoever falls out of: Bender, Dunn, Murray, Hield, Brown, Chriss (at least 2 of those guys will still be on the board). Plus we add Noel.

Philly would probably demand #7 though I think.

yeah a deal involving Jae is probably fair value, but man I want to keep that guy. I would have mixed feelings about that one.
