IMO most smokescreens around the draft come into play when ... team A knows team B has known interest in drafting a certain player. Assuming team A is in position to acquire this certain player (like the player or not), they create a rumored interest in hopes to lure team B do deal - especially - if team B has a player already under contract they would like to acquire and swap picks in exchange.

Example: Boston has info a team at #6 covets Bender ... Boston sends signals they love Bender at #3. Bottom line: Boston is looking to lure the team cause they have a player of high interest. They offer #3 for starter/#6 swap. Obviously most never go through, but I bet there are a lot of interesting scenarios.

I'm with you 100%. Would be a perfect fit here. Problem is he's probably a perfect fit anywhere in today's NBA. Hopefully Boston and Phoenix like Criss Murray Dunn. I happen to think Criss will get bossed in the NBA.
I'll take Heild if Bender is gone.

What is the rumour around the Celtics Camp about what they are doing about their third pick?

I don't see the suns taking guard so the wolves might not be able to get bender.

Bender has not received the hype that kristaps porzingis received but from my memory the Porzingis hype started after his workout in the states.

Maybe after a workout Bender will get GM's drooling.

Despite wanting the Timberwolves to draft Jamal Murray,I'm hoping Zach Lavine continues to build on that great second half.

Jamal Murray and Zack Lavine backcourt can be very potent on the offensive end.

A Murray/Lavine backcourt would make Thibs quit coaching.

Well, if we do draft him it looks like we'd be adding another very likable guy to the team. :D

Ugh I hate hearing that 'likeable' word to describe a prospect ever since Kahn drafted the ultra 'likeable' Jonny Flynn and Wes Johnson. I just want to know if Dunn can ball, I don't care if he has a flashy smile and a great personality.

He'll probably be gone, but I wonder if the risk will scare teams off. This isn't Porzingis, who was getting heavy minutes/usage in the ACB. Bender has a lot of DNP-CD's this season (due mostly to his age), including in yesterday's season ending loss. I can't think of a Euro drafted this high with as little high level experience since Skita, which has to be terrifying to GMs.

The short answer is nobody knows.

The longer answer: Ainge has avoided drafting internationals in the past. But the Celtics have extensively scouted Bender. Danny and Austin Ainge went to watch him practice in Israel for a few days last week. Nothing is guaranteed but there have been on-and-off rumors all season that the Celtics are very interested in him.

They're looking at everyone and could do anything. (They almost have to trade some of their picks since they have 3 first rounders and 5 second rounders.) Bender's probably the favorite right now if they keep the pick.

Dunn is our target .... I see us signing a veteran shooter rather than drafting one. More and more rumors (smoke) to suggest Rubio will be moved - IF - Thibs can get the right player in exchange. Philly, Milwaukee, Indiana. etc all have had previous interest. We shall see.

IMO ... I hope we do draft Dunn, but I'd like to keep Rubio until atleast the trade deadline. There could be some unique SG/PG combos between Rubio/Dunn/Lavine.

I want Hield the most but i'd be extremely happy with Bender, Dunn, or Hield. Also don't trade Zach or you'll have many handwritten & stamped letters coming your way Thibs.

Knowing Thibs I am sure he is all in for either Bender or Dunn, if none are available thats another argument, I'd go Baldwin/Luwawu in that case

Not agree. Even if Thibbs dont want him, I think you take Murray and call to toronto to trade down for let say PatPat and 9.

That opens up a big whole at PF for the Raptors. Most draft prognosticators have them drafting a PF, not trading their best one.

I'd bet he hasn't even begun to make up his mind yet. Everyone wants to speculate about what he wants to do, but the guy wasn't exactly scouting college prospects all year and he's only had the chance to interview a few guys at the combine at this point. It's only logical that individual workouts heat up first before he'll begin to narrow it down.

I think the Suns could take Brown if he's still on the board (Boston could also take him).

I think they will make the playoffs in the east with any PF of free agency and this way they have his high Canadian project to develop.
They could even start him with derozan at the 3 and Carroll at the 4 and still making the playoffs next year.

Baldwin hasn't really been talked about here, and I don't know much about him. I have noticed he has a giant wingspan (6'11) and was a 40 percent 3 point shooter. I don't know that he's on the radar though.

After watching a couple of videos of Skal's workouts, it's obvious that he's another Kentucky big who didn't get to fully utilize his jump shot in college. I still don't think we could consider him because he looked so soft at Kentucky, but a potential floor stretcher/rim protector is always tempting.
