I don't really an opinion on which of Lowry or Thompson had the better season. If folks think it's Lowry that's fine. But I'm more excited about Thompson's future than Lowry's. This is based on Thompson's performance on the toughest stage: his defense on Lebron and Westbrook; his heroics in the OKC series against a very tough team.

It used to be that Klay would only have the big performances against bad teams. But this season he's become able to be a true alpha, excelling even against the best.

Not much of a stretch to say something like that considering Lowry is 30 and Thompson is 26.

I know eh! I think Curry will have nightmares of not winning finals MVP. I mean he'd trade both his rings for just one finals MVP. Oh the hurt of losing out on Finals MVP but winning 2 rings. How bad would that be?

With that 2-way performance against OKC ( and with the 3-point obsession of today's game), Klay certified his TOP10 NBA player status.

Draymond Green is TOP25, he was just way too exposed against OKC.

I still dont know how someone can be voted MVP(unanimous ) as a Point Guard that is supposed to be the best ever 3-point shooter with the following two teammates :) :

GSW player no 1:I am the current NBA 3-point Champ and holds the Most 3-point field goals made in a game, in playoff history and I am the guard that gets to cover the Elite Point Guard in this league. I am 2 time All-Star
GSW player no 2:I lead my team in Assists as a PF, in rebounding, in triple double and the second best defender on the team. I am an All Star too.

knowing that league MVP is a PG and supposedly the greatest 3-point shooter of all time ; I would pick 'GSW player no 1' before picking league MVP ,on my team

It's quite simple really. The team performance correlates more to Curry's presence than to Thompson's. This has been true every year they have been on the team together. Ultimately the game is about winning, and that is what Curry brings.

Klay and his 30 points average(at the time) were doing just fine earlier in the playoffs without league MVP. then if it wasnt for coach Kerr's decision, starting game 5, to move Klay on Wes from jump as the latter was demolishing league MVP, GSW could have been fishing right now.
The point being Klay is just as important as Curry, for winning. IMO, Klay is more important.

Something tells me that a player that is the NBA 3-point AS champ and that can make 11 3s in a super pressurized playoff game - can make ~400 3s during the regular season if given the opportunity to take ~900 of them.

Well yes, I'd take Thompson too when building for the future. Hell, maybe even as early as next year. I mean, he's younger, obviously. But my original post was in response to someone who said that right now, Thompson was maybe even better than Lowry in terms of team impact. So I refuted that post. The advanced numbers simply don't back this claim up. It was not me being homerish or making an unsubstantiated argument. Lowry's season was simply factually better than Thompson's. I wasn't even slagging Thompson as a player, in fact I'm already quite high on him now AND going forward. I just find it funny that ANY comparison of the GS stars to someone else in a negative sense invites this kind of defensiveness out of their fans.

Grabbing posts out of the original context of the discussion can twist the meaning of a post.

It really isn't arguable. In terms of impact on the court-- win shares, VORP, offensive and defensive plus and minus. Lowry has it over Klay. And the numbers aren't really close.

Man, for such a lucky fanbase, GS fans still are so insecure. Do some of you guys really go through every forum looking for EVERY mention of GS? Kinda pathetic if you ask me.

I also feel the same about Raps fans who do the same thing though. I know they're out there. But I wouldn't know since I DGAF about other forums' opinions.

It's arguable because the guy is an elite shooter/offensive player. Lowry gets my nod above him because he's a much better defender, but you can make a strong case for either player.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Strictly measuring them as players on an individual level, I can see this argument. But when I think of stars (which you were mentioning before), I think of team impact. It's undeniable that this season Lowry had top 10 impact, whereas Klay didn't.

I haven't watched the games to know what really happened but it doesn't surprise me that Kyrie/Love are fading right now, especially Kevin Love who is a fake All Star.

Cavs gotta take the next one, or at least keep it close. They can't take a beating again.

I'd be surprised, but then again I am surprised game 1 and 2 played out like they did, I expected this to be closer so far.

Well, I wasn't really trying to imply anything about the prior conversation. I was just thinking about a different question. I was curious if my view there was controversial or not. Looks like no?

Question for you:

Would you pick Draymond Green over any of the following 5 players?
KAT /LaMarcus Aldridge /Giannis Antetokounmpo/ Kyle Lowry/Brook Lopez(one of the most gifted offensive player at the 5, in years).

project Draymond without Curry and Klay. Draymond was still shutdown with the splash bro around against KD, Ibaka, Adams, Kanter,

Who's saying it would be bad. It's ridiculous that this guy has had 2 first team All NBA seasons and is getting compared to MJ.

What he does have is the greatest supporting cast ever.

Kind of OT, but that fan that got ejected from the Raptors vs Cavs game is the guy that got shot at Yonge and Eglinton today. Apparently he was a gangster from the Vancouver area and the killing looks targeted.

Wait... you think Brook Lopez is better than Draymond Green? I don't even..

Draymond is easily a top 15 player. His work as a short roll man is second to none, as evidenced by all his triple doubles (including one in Game 6 of the finals last year) and he's now a two time runner up for DPOY.

I was listening to cp24 this morning and apparently there were 13 shootings or stabbings over the weekend. It's like we're reverting back to the 70-80 homicides a year figure like we used to get.

Always amazing what google can dig for you in seconds!:

Sukh’s father, Parminder, is wanted on an Interpol warrant on drug-smuggling charges laid in India. He said he is innocent.

Sukh Deo was an avid fan of the Toronto Raptors. Last month, he was ejected from his courtside seat at Game 4 of the Raptors’ playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers after heckling the referees.

“All our kids, they watched him on that day,” Sohan Deo said. “He was a really big fan of that team.”
