I know rsavaj was there, but not sure if he started there, and RunDogGun, and GMAT I haven't seen post anywhere else (I assume he hasn't because he uses same username here as do I). Those I'm pretty sure of, but I'm sure a bunch of others posted there too that I don't know about.

From what I can tell, very few posters from ASFN or .net are here, but those are so dead I wouldn't blame them for coming, though I can also understand why they wouldn't want to.

As for espn, I just wonder what happened to babyshaq....and WiseOldSun, the master know it all with obvious ties to Sarver.

You know .net isn't dead it just moved, right? Phx-suns.net. We did lose half our members when the original board died tho.

Boo. We have booted a couple of people for being mean to others after repeated warnings over the last few months but I never would have thought that we were snobby. I'm sad to hear many feel that way.

Anyone else remember the half bottle of wine story? Or was that this site?

There was an "insider" on those forums that told a story about having a conversation with D'antoni "over a half bottle of wine" and went on spew a wealth of BS about the inner workings of the Suns organization and upcoming trades.

It become a forum thing to ask any "insider" if they'd been splitting half bottles of wine with FO employees. Pretty funny stuff and possibly the worst/most obvious internet lie I've ever seen.

That must have been before or after I was on espn..most likely before because I was on there for a little while after the forum format change, which was awful. I don't think I started posting on that forum until about 2005 though.

I think part of the problem from the .net that i remember was that you had to email someone in order just to register for the site.

I heard Maryvale followed Steph to China but I can't confirm it.

Started on an AOL forum years ago, and then was also on an AZCentral forum until one poster made it intolerable. From that migrated to these three (.net, AZSF, and here).

We were the largest sports group on Myspace (had over 300k members I believe) and I became one of 5 mods there. We also had a small Suns group there too. It eventually died down and then Myspace went away with the whole group thing. I only know of two people who transferred over to Realgm from there.

originally a place called hoopschat (pre ebay) but that is long since dead, Then phxsuns.net first as a lurker because they banned new users for a long time due to trolls then a member always had the same name.
side note just in case you didnt know .net is still around its just www.phx-suns.net and sose is pretty much gone now and its less active but some familiar faces.
We need more “Shazam!” and less“Heartbreak Hotel”.

I started out on Compuserve in the 80's but I got most of my Suns fix on the Alt sports suns newsgroup until about 95. Switched to AOL in the mid 90's when they started the flat fee revolution and used their forums exclusively for several years. I mostly post now on ASFN but have lurked here for many years along with the old ESPN forums and both versions of .net.

I really liked the Arizona Republic site when it was originally housed on AOL. In that same area there was a media board which included KTAR sports which had the original Cards Corner and the Sun Devil forum. Anyway the Suns side kind of died out so I started posting in the part of AOL where we first crossed paths but when Az Republic finally started up their own site (AZCentral) separate from AOL I was excited to give it a try. I joined right away but it didn't take long for Cubby and that LA fan plus a few others to drive most of the sane people away. IIRC .net came out of that group didn't they?

I came to .net after ASFN, but it was definitely created as the direct result of Cubby. Strangely enough he actually resurfaced on .net last year and was kicked off almost immediately. The original owner had him banned but when the site died & we moved it, he found the new forum. It wasn't long before he started with his exact same nonsense. Some people never grow up I guess.

From what I remember, I don't think he has it in him to change. I know I've seen him a few times on other forums throughout the years (Spurstalk kind of places) and even when he's on his best behavior, he's still annoying.
