the cleveland big 3 is too flawed.

its killer on offense when they get going, but you cant have 2 of your top 3 players be anti-defense players.

the warriors big 3 is basically perfect.

So as long as they want to play defence a trio of aggressive scoring point guard, do it all point forward and stretch 4 can win?

Hopefully, otherwise we're screwed

I'd seriously consider trading Kyrie for Kris Middleton, I would probably be crucified on the trade board for suggesting it but I think he would fit being a stars role player a whole lot better. I wanted Henson as well but couldn't get the salaries to work. I would then look for a reliable shooting point guard who isn't a liability on defence. Which is what free agent bayless managed to be this season shooting 43% from 3.

Cleveland lacks 2-way players....Kyrie, Love, Thompson, Shumpert, and Frye will collectively earn 78% of 2016's soft cap but have major flaws and limited abilities to play multiple positions. Even on offense Love and Kyrie have been fairly pedestrian with Lebron off the court.

A trade this summer or after December trade restrictions are lifted for 2-way shooters who don't need the rock would make sense. Crowder, Teague, Marvin, Bradley, Hill, Otto Porter, Ariza, Beverley, Crabbe, Gary Harris, Oladipo, Lee, etc...are all at least passable on D and in lower usage C&S situations.

For example, a 3-team package surrounding Teague and Porter for Kyrie would improve both ends while giving The Cavs Lebron the positional flexibility 1-4 he's lacked since Miami. Snagging someone like Dudley in FA would make sense too.

Love has an eFG of 42.9% in 515 minutes without Lebron. And somewhat insanely, Kyrie's usage is 40.5% (!!!) in 596 minutes without Lebron.

Looks like it's not just DOTA. He's adding League of Legends/Riot Games E-Sports outreach to his fanbase.

Riot Games is owned by TenCent, the giant Chinese company that bought the online broadcast rights to NBA games in China for $700M.

Since he's more of a DOTA rather than LOL guy, I wonder if this guest speaker gig was an initiative on Riot Games/TenCent's part, since they did that $700M deal with the NBA.

i'd rather see lin staying in Charlotte and work out in the gym with his teammates all summer long... he seriously needs to improve his skills, particularly his jump shots....otherwise, no matter where he ends up, he will still be the inconsistent Jeremy Lin we saw the last 4 seasons...

He seems to do his workouts in Cali, not Charlotte. He does those 3 a day workouts, where he pays for specialty equipment and facilities with monitoring software and forceplates and such.

For instance, even following Linsanity, Atkinson flew out to Cali to work out with him, instead of staying in NYC. And pre-Linsanity, he paid for sessions with The Glove.

Even when he works out with teammates, it won't be at the team facilities. The summer that Dwight joined the Rockets, they held their own voluntary player-organized team scrimmage practices in LA (not Houston), in addition to Dwight/Lin sessions in Aspen with Olajuwon.

The only ones that work out at the team facilities tend to be the rookies and marginal guys on low salaries, since they can't afford to pay for their own facilities and trainers closer to home, and lack connections in other cities. Unless they're in the area anyway.

He's got harden defense, not sure he makes it on their roster.

I just posted Kyrie + JR Smith for Middleton + MCW on the general board thread about Clevelands off-season lol. I toiled over tons of combinations to try to get Henson, but I don't think Milwaukee would want to part with him too (you can make the salaries work due to the poison pill expiring on June 30). I'm guessing people are going to say that Middleton is a bad return for Kyrie, but I honestly wouldn't do it if I was Milwaukee. Although, I actually kind of think they would do it if Cleveland offered it to them. Kyrie is an "all-star" after all. I think that trade would be wonderful for Cleveland, though. Lebron at PF with Love at C might work as a closing/SB lineup if they had enough size and length 1-3. Something like Delly/MCW, Middleton, Joe Johnson, Lebron, Love, might be viable and they can use Tristan Thompson to start with a more traditional lineup.

Love for Melo makes a lot of sense in the short term, but I think Love still has the potential to be too valuable of a long term piece to trade him away for an on the way out Melo. I wouldn't worry about moving any other major pieces until I got rid of Kyrie.

Makes too much sense!

Except, can James and Melo coexist? Can Melo play real good D?

Melo will be a better fit next to Lebron for sure. While he is not a very good defender, he is an elite scorer. He dropped 62 on the Lolcats.

The Cavs were steamrolling along. A few hiccups in Toronto and now they look completely overmatched. It's a case of bad matchups perhaps? Agree with most posters, some moves need to be made. LeBron is a high-mileage, super durable 31/32 going into next season and if he wants to get the Cavs a chip, they'll have to go away from Love and put some stronger defensive players in there. Kyrie has to make some adjustments, has to be able to create for others better.

Tonight should be interesting. Love-less and the home crowd cheering them on.

Dunno how Melo would be a better fit than Love. Melo and LeBron cause positional issues with each other and both are ball dominant. That's a horrible fit IMO.

I also don't understand why people think Love is the odd man out either. I think as far as a big goes, he's a great fit with LeBron. He's not very ball dominant, is a great passer, grabs boards, and can score from deep. Kyrie is the one I'd be looking to trade for someone who is more of a catch and shoot option so LeBron can play his natural PG-on-offense position

Agree there. I think the Kings could be a target. Kylie for Collison, Koufos and 8. May be a little much from Sac but those guys work well with what the Cavs want to do.
