I feel like I also want Ingram more and more but I also feel that's just because Philly is going to take Simmons. All in all as long as we take one of the two and not try to get creative with the pick we will be fine.

Now i want Simmons. Nike have great scouts in eyeing great talents. They just signed Ben to a deal. They know the hype is real.

According to your logic, Tim Duncan doesn't deserve any respect.

What if they choose Bender over Ingram? What if it's the better choice in the long run like Mitch said with DLo?

I still want any one of Simmons or Ingram though
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

to be fair, nike mispronounced stephen curry's name in a meeting. I think simmons will be the better player but ingram is the more versatile 2 way player.

Correct me if I'm wrong but his Nike contract is really under valued compared to some of the past highly touted number one picks.

Yi Jianlian
Eddy Curry

Both of these players signed lucrative deals with Nike. Just to name a few...of the many they swung and missed on.

And when you consider some of the contracts that the Jordan Brand gave out the list is even worse.

Mickael Pietrus
Darius Miles
Harold Miner
Jared Jeffries

to name a few.

Man, I've completely forgotten about Eddy Curry. Isiah Thomas, man. Dude was a genius.

As it stands, Simmons will agree to a deal with Nike that still lands him in a commendable zone for a top pick. The $12 million, five-year deal is right in line with the $11 million deal 2014 top pick Andrew Wiggins signed with adidas in 2014. Simmons' shoe deal is far below the two largest signed by a rookies: Kevin Durant's seven-year, $60 million deal (although, annually was about $8.6m) and James’ seven-year, $90 million deal, both with Nike.

Lets be real, Nike will go after the potential #1 pick every year because its good marketing. This tells me nothing

So I don't know who either of these guys are on this RGM podcast, but they really trashed Ingram as a prospect.

Curious what people think.

I listened to that the other day. At the end of the day everyone has a opinion. There's not much to say. The NBA society is in a place where if your a athletic freak you get the benefit of the doubt. If you aren't, you don't. Chad Ford still thinks Mudiay will be better than DLo even after watching last year. You would think Lebron inability to hit a jumper consistently this year and the Warriors ability to shoot would really highlight shooting....Apparently not because people are falling over themselves for Ben Simmons.

No idea why the synth voice... but this would be about just as valid a point... in the end the results are never crystal clear and you end up with Bowie/Jordan, Oden/Durant, and any number of mixed results. So... right now I prefer to live in this train of thought:

Adidas signed Wiggins for 11 million, they offered Simmons 17 million plus a 2 million dollar signing bonus.
Adidas have to pay a lot more than Nike for players.

the question is what’s next for the swoosh? We got our answer yesterday in the form of Ben Simmons, as he announced his signing with the brand. Reportedly it is one of the largest rookie deals Nike has ever done.
