Maybe because everyone slept on Booker last year?

A player like Devin Booker shouldn't be in consideration for #3 pick either. There is a Devin Booker, Jamaal Murray, Nick Stauskas type available every year. Better yet, you can sign JJ Reddick off the FA wire every other year for the MLE. A team picking in the top 3 needs 'building blocks', not 'help-dudes'.

For what it's worth, McCollum arguably would go top 3 in a 2013 redraft. I'd personally put him 4th or 5th but he's up there.

We can get our Klay Thompson by signing Evan Fournier this summer.

No chance.

Rudy Gobert
Gorgui Dieng
Mason Plumlee
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Victor Oladipo
Steven Adams
Kelly Olynyk
Nerlens Noel
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Cody Zeller
Otto Porter
Michael Carter-Williams
Andre Roberson

The only players in that pool that I'd probably lean towards selecting McCollum over would be Dieng, Plumlee, Olynyk, Zeller, MCW and Roberson.

His rookie year went pretty much as everyone that studied him pre-draft expected it to go. He was a solid catch and shoot player that didn't defend a lick. His VORP and +/- metrics were awful.

Would you trade Okafor for Booker? I know the Suns wouldn't.

I'd rather have Knight and #4.

The Suns overvalue Booker. Then again, you could say the same thing about our fanbase with Okafor.

Ok. I would trade Okafor straight up for Booker though. So if the Suns did your deal and gave you Knight and 4 then who would you draft at 4?

Kris Dunn
Denzel Valentine
Chinanu Onuaku
Jamal Murray

In that order.

A Kris Dunn -- Brandon Knight back court would be so fun.

And a starting-5 of:

Dunn
Knight
Covington
Simmons
Embiid

Would be so awesome.

Devin Booker is a legit future star NBA player on the rise. I'd trade any player that the Sixers have for him.

Hype is Kristaps Porzingis not two players that made the ALL NBA team.

There were once people that would have traded Kevin Love for Klay Thompson. Glad I was never one of them and that it didn't happen. Kevin Love is hype.

Was Love ever good? This Board is crawling with Love FanBoys. Y'All wanted to pair him up with Nerlens for NBA domination.. :o

Love was always over-rated on this site. You couldn't bring up his name on the General board without getting into a bare knuckle brawl with one of those mods.

Yeah, so even though Simmons looks like the call at #1, I still take Dunn at #3. Obviously, we'd like Dunn to be a better shooter but both players are physically imposing even by NBA standards. Dunn is a committed defender and these two could really push pace and move the ball. Embiid can shoot. We still need wings.

Dunn (3)/TJ/Ulis (24)
Fournier/Stauskas
RC3/Brogden (26)/Hollis
Simmons (#1)/Saric/Grant/Landry
Embiid/Nerlens/Holmes

Dunn, and it ain't even close. I'm so glad he went back to school. I wanted him with the Miami pick that we should have received last year.

I would have killed to get him with the Miami pick last year. I would take him in a second if we got the Lakers pick this year, but I'm still not trading Okafor for him.

I like the Dunn/Fournier combo at PG and SG. I think Dunn can anchor our perimeter D much like Bradley and Smart do for Boston. Having him, Simmons, and Embiid/Noel in the starting lineup is a foundation for a great defense.

We need to get Patrick McCaw also with one of our late picks. We could have a crazy lockdown defensive lineup with:

PG Dunn
SG McCaw
SF Covington or Grant
PF Simmons
C Noel or Embiid

Bender. Hope he decides to stay in Europe for an additional three seasons. Have a Porzingis-level talent in system, but not contributing to huge position problems now. When he comes stateside, can trade whatever we need to accommodate him on roster outside of Simmons, including Saric, Noel, Okafor, Holmes, etc. He may be better than all of them all-around. Sixers can get back all sorts of young players and picks, and if time is needed to let proper price develop for them, can let Bender play in D league to keep fresh while letting him be on roster making whatever salary they have negotiated (not paying $10mil for a two year D league players, but 10 mil for a dominant NBA player for the following seven seasons after the two spent in the D league for flexibility).

Overpay in FA for a stopgap; next year's crop is superior to Dunn and Murray, and Sixers should have two picks in top 10. The overpay will be off the books on two or three years, when the money will be needed to keep Embiid.
