OT: Dirk Nowitzki recreates Odor/Bautista punch

Was this posted anywhere yet?

Bad taste or funny? Do you dislike Dirk for doing it? Does it annoy you that Odor has catapulted this into more fame?

I found it funny. It was probably the best baseball punch I have ever seen because usually baseball and basketball players punch like girls when there's a brawl. Had it been the other way around and Jose delivered that punch, he would be treated as a bigger hero around here than the bat flip. Just like we would have hated Odor had he been the one doing that bat flip while hitting a series winning HR. Its just that it happened to our player so now it's distasteful in our eyes. George Bell delivered a perfect MMA style drop kick to pitcher Bruce Kison after getting thrown at and was worshiped for that piece of badassery by the Jays fans for years afterwards.

True it was a nice shot Odor delivered. I guess we only hate it because we are the party that received it.

Though. It was low that the Rangers chose to do all that in the last game of the year against the Jays and worse, the last at bat of the year for Bautista against them. That part way wimpy. Could they not gave done it earlier?

They've seen what Jose did to O'Day after throwing at him. They were afraid. Very lame. And yes it was a great punch.

it was the cleanest shot you will ever see on a baseball diamond but the amount of fanfare it and odor received is comical. can you imagine being so butthurt about being knocked out of the playoffs by a unprecedented display of horrow-show defense in one inning and a massive home-run + righteous bat-flip that you would pay $80 to get a picture signed of odor landing the hook? hahahahahahaha

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

I still think its insane how a celebration is widely reviled while a suckerpunch on an all star by a scrub on the last possible game is praised.

ain't it ironic that Odor's wearing a Re2pect shirt in that picture with Dirk...something tells me he's not the sharpest tool in the shed

Yea this is what I don't understand. They spend all off-season saying how classless a bat flip is yet celebrate punching a player in the face.

It's not ok to wound somebody's pride in MLB, but you can hurt them physically all you like.
