sent you pm.
I am still hoping he is the pick, but its not a guarantee. Theyre planning to bring in J. Murray for a workout as well....
Not sure how accurate this is but

Surely thats just due diligence but he could play his way into the 1st pick.
Ben Simmons better get a move on then or else he'll lose his spot.

Bobby marks puts it nicely:Teams that put a lot of stock into the draft workout are often the ones that miss out on top prospects in the draft. It’s just not as important as the other parts of the evaluation process.
The workout is more for the benefit of the coaching staff.
Players will go through a one-hour, practice-like setting that will combine agility, shell drills, shooting and three-on-three. The true test of the prospect is not how skilled they are; it's their conditioning. Unlike a practice setting where there are 15 players, the draft workout is built on repetition with less rest.
By mid-June, the prospects’ on-court performance could suffer from the effects of fatigue and the travel schedule.
The key takeaways are if a player is coachable and can pick up terminology.
Mitch has said things to the same effect too, how the workout is a small part of the overall evaluation of a prospect. Even if Ingram was underwhelming, you'd think they'd go after him based on his potential alone.
June 23, where you at?

Re: Lakers 2016 NBA draft #2 pick discussion
If for some reason Ingram underwhelmed then they could still draft him and see what trades they get offered.
Jaylen and Skal will be coming in next for their workouts, would be insane to have both somehow without losing any of Russell-Randle-Clarkson.
Jaylen would need to be their at 4 (easy) and Skal at 13 (unlikely) or no trade. If they're both there then a trade gets done.
LAL get #4, 13, 28 & 34
PHX get #2 & 32
We could draft...
4 - Jaylen Brown
13 - Skal Labissiere
28 - DeAndre Bembry
34 - Caris LeVert/Gary Payton II
Solid little squad with 2 1 and dones and two upperclassmen. I'd like that just as much as having Ingram here. I just prefer Simmons so much more for the potential line ups and mismatches it could create here. I really can envision Simmons playing some small ball center, point center. I can def see it

It wasn't much more content than what he'd alluded to in his original post.
According to those he heard from there were some that weren't very impressed with the workout. Ingram's skills and range. Apparently these sources aren't decision makers within the organization, so maybe it won't even matter. But we shall see.
If this year is anything like last, there will be some story by either Ding or Ramona just before the draft shedding some light on the direction they're going...but again who knows what is what. Could be a smokescreen for all we know.

Re: Lakers 2016 NBA draft #2 pick discussion
Judging by the fact it was a "private" workout that no media saw, and I have to believe it was limited to only a handful of people in the gym, I doubt it. The Lakers organization has never been one of "sources." Whenever things happen, it's usually tight lipped.
Until I hear something from Ding or Ramona, I wouldn't believe a single thing.

P.S. Ingram is raw (not NBA ready) so it's no surprise. Drafting in Ingram is believing that he has really good base rate to be a good wing after development such as PG or Kawhi.

It wasn't the media. Also I have no reason not to believe him. Regardless, there's still a lot of time until June 23. I trust the FO will make another good call.

It's just saying how Chad thinks Chriss and Ingram has same upside but Ingram has a lower floor.
Here are some of the quotes I've been given this week:
"The Lakers should take Marquese Chriss at No. 2."
First Kevin Pelton says the Lakers should take Dragan Bender at No. 2. Now this?
Chriss was at No. 8 on our Big Board for quite a while, and moved up to No. 6 in our latest Big Board. We are currently projecting him to go No. 4 to the Suns in our latest mock draft.
But No. 2? Over Brandon Ingram? Is the hype going overboard?
Chriss' elite athleticism, combined with size, length and the ability to both stretch the floor and protect the rim make him a unique prospect. Few players have a similar combination of physical tools and basketball skills.
In the past few weeks I've heard comparisons to Shawn Marion and Shawn Kemp. As we've been saying in this space for a while, he has highest ceiling in the draft after Ben Simmons and Ingram.
But does he have a higher ceiling than Ingram? Perhaps. He's a better athlete, and given his body type, he might be a better defender (if he can learn how to stay out of foul trouble).
That said, he's not the shooter Ingram is and his floor is also much lower. Ingram is more of a sure thing. Chriss is much more raw, and while he is clearly competitive, his decision-making on the court is a lot further behind compared to Ingram.
Talking to Lakers sources, I think Ingram is the pick for L.A. at No. 2. He has similar upside to Chriss without the risks.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
