Why are you so big on Murray? Haven't watched him before, but his scouting report reads like he's a combo guard with no jumper and poor vision.

That would be true. Otherwise, in categories that generally translate and are NBA leading indicators - steals, rebounds, assists, and blocks - he was nearly off the charts. Since 2009 only 4 Freshman guards from power 6 conferences pass his screening:
Marcus Smart
D'Angelo Russell
Wade Baldwin
Dejounte Murray
Oh and Elfrid Payton, which fits the mold of Murray's 6'5" frame and 6'9.5" WS. He's slight and his shot needs work but I don't believe his season with the Huskies is a great offensive indicator. Washington's 7-man rotation was a clunky mess with 5 freshman, a junior, and a 5th year senior guard muting Murray's numbers even further.
I'd view him as a high reward, medium risk player backstopped by his defensive potential. It's a shallow draft at the top so the risk is quite normal beyond 12. And I'd take him before Marquese Chriss and his 11% Drebs.

Re: Hornets Draft Board #19
I voted for Malcolm Brogdon (other). Here is a DE capsule of his play at the recent NBA combine:
Brogdon shot 39% from 3 & 90% from FT this season. I see Malcolm Brogdon as an inexpensive replacement for the apparently leaving Courtney Lee. Brogdon ought to be in the rotation from day 1, as confirmed by his selection to the USA Select Team. A mistake free combo guard with the same wingspan as Domantas Sabonis?
Malcolm Brogdon played an impressive, efficient game, scoring 17 points on only eight shots, while contributing in a handful of different areas. The 23-year-old two-guard looked like the best pure basketball player among all four 5-on-5 teams as he was able to distribute as the primary ball handler, knock down open shots, and finish over length and through contact all while locking up on the defensive end. He's been a winner at every level (his team won by 40 points on Thursday) and most certainly stood out as the most NBA-ready player to play 5-on-5. At 6' 5.5” with a 6' 10.5” wingspan and a strong 223-pound frame, Brogdon found some success playing on the ball on Thursday, especially out of ball screens. He showed that he's a sound ball handler versus pressure and has the IQ to facilitate against a variety of pick and roll coverages.

lets add Malachi Richardson next. He seems to be the new hot prospect moving up the boards.

Murray looks like a massive project. Not sure I'd look at him this early in the draft with so many more NBA ready players available. He's clearly a pick if we are looking for risky upside players as opposed to guys who can possibly be a rotation player sooner than later.

I voted Sabonis this time, will probably vote for Jackson and then Brogdon next.

I really like what I've read about Bembry from the new update on DX. He seems like he'd be a great fit for our team based on his personality. He also went to MKGs high school. The question on him seems to be his jumper. If he gets that fixed, he could be a real solid utility wing.

How truly risky is he though? In normal years picks #14-30 are at best 50/50 propositions, this year maybe #12-30. His physical tools and college performance suggest he might be the least risky player > #12 even if he never figures out the offensive stuff.
I get the concerns though. A deep team with a roster spot and willing to wait a year should view him no differently than a mid-first Euro stash.

Reminds me of a poor mans Iguodala.

Beasley, please.

Re: Hornets Draft Board #19
I am going Dejounte Murray, his upside is just too good at this point. He does have some bust potential, but I think this is a good spot to take on that chance. I see him being a mix of Zach Lavine and Jamal Crawford if everything works out for him. He has the size to play next to Kemba and I think his jumpshot will get better especially with size and length to shoot over defenders.
I think Bembry should be the next added to the poll. I have heard he could be on the rise and teams are considering him as early as 15 and late as 30. He just does everything well for a wing, except shoot a great three point percentage. If you watch his tape, he is not scared to shoot the three and hits tough shots. Iggy is a great comparison in my mind both from the eye test and the statistics.
