Nathan (Hendo NC)

Who is the next Moe Harkless? E.g. someone buried on a bench that can be a valuable contributor to another team. KJ McDaniels? Solomon Hill? DeWayne Dedmon?
Kevin Pelton (3:25 PM)

Those are some good candidates.
Rick (SLC)

How does Phoenix see Bledsoe moving forward? Is he a cornerstone, damaged goods/a burdensome contract, or somewhere in between?
Kevin Pelton (3:25 PM)

Somewhere in between but probably closer to cornerstone than damaged goods. His contract is terrific.

Jonathan [via mobile]

RFA most likely to change teams this summer: Harkless or Fournier?
Kevin Pelton (3:33 PM)

I'd say Fournier is more likely to get the kind of dramatic overpay that would be necessary for his team not to match.

I complemented them, then deleted it because I decided to post their board chat in here. Didn't want you guys to hate me for saying they were more informed than us on Brown :o

Most of the guys there are Bender then struggle between Brown Dunn and Murray, although they like Brown a lot more than in here. Kinda funny.

lol "more informed" :D

unless any of them are professional scouts, they're just fans on the internet going off the same scouting reports, highlights and footage as us. neither of us actually have any clue how these guys are gonna turn out.

If they can understand why someone is ranked top 5 by just about every SCOUT but some people here can't, then that means they are more informed. If someone provides you information and you are unable to interpret it correctly, that leaves you less informed. The last part of your statement is irrelevant. My point is many posters here act as if Brown has nothing to offer and he does and the Celts fans are having a conversation about what he provides and they are not giving eachother grief for stating positive things about him.

It should be something like "I can see why we might draft Brown, but I prefer...because." Not "your comparisons are obnoxious." Just sayin.

Just about every scout? What are you talking about? He's been tumbling over the last month and has slowly risen due to workouts because, once again, that athleticism is appealing, which, having been an athlete, can see why you find him appealing as well. Chad Ford, who talks to scouts and GMs from probably just about every team most recently (on his Big Board 9.0) says...

8. Jaylen Brown

Previous rank: No. 10
Cal
Freshman
Forward

Brown's quirky personality hasn't done his draft stock any favors. Nor did his play on the court at the end of the season for Cal.

But he's starting to rise a bit now in workouts as teams realize that his athleticism and NBA-ready body could give him more upside than most of the players who will be left on the board.

If his game can catch up to his physical tools, he'll be very difficult to handle in the NBA. That's a big if, but it's a bet that some teams may be inclined to make.

Brown has the widest range in our top 10. He could go as high as No. 3 or slip into the teens. The Celtics, Suns, Pelicans, Nuggets and Kings will all give him looks in the top 10.

Now there are obviously teams like us and Boston that MAY have him in the top 5, but it sounds like after that he is hit and miss, and if Ford says he thinks there is a chance he slips into the teens, then obviously there are likely teams that don't even have him in the top 10. On ESPN stats and projections rankings that came out today, he was 11.

I think on his Big Board 8.0, he said he could go as high as 3 and possibly slip to the 20s.

NBA Comparison – His game just screams Russell Westbrook to me. Like Brown, Westbrook was an explosive athlete out of college and they both didn’t have a jumpshot at the time. Take away Westbrook’s ball handling skills and add in four inches and you’ll get Jaylen Brown. If he develops a respectable shot from midrange the same way Westbrook did, then watch out.

"article"

C'mon man, it's Christian Today, the most reliable NBA news site in the internet.

And it's source is BSoTS, where some guest writer wrote
"Jamal Murray, we certainly got a chance to see him a couple of weeks ago," Eversley said. "He's certainly going to be one of those kids who's going to be in contention for the No. 1 pick. We like him a lot. He's going to bring a lot to wherever he goes in the NBA, certainly a talent."

If Philadelphia is set on Simmons or Ingram in the top spot, is there any reason for the Sixers to suggest another player could be the top overall draft pick? Murray is shooting up many mock drafts and is becoming a popular name as a top five pick. Is this an indicator that Philly could be interested in dealing with the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, or Minnesota Timberwolves to obtain a pair of top five selections?

BSotS used to have much better writers.

Lol I love how every opinion that disagrees with you means nothing, but an 18 year old Phillipino boy blogging on the Internet is so valuable because he also made the ridiculous Westbrook comparison.

Anyways moving on..... Anyone has any news on Bender? When is he working out? Are the Celts full of it? Maybe they are acting as if they are going to draft everyone from Brown to Chris to Bender to Dunn to Murray in order to see which player will make us blink then say they want that player so they can force us to trade up with them or get someone right behind to bite on a trade up.

Lol you're so corny, literally no one here but you thinks Brown is even remotely close to the wild comparisons you make but you. Russell Westbrook with 4 more inches?? Get a clue, that's **** Lebron James, not Jaylen Brown lmao. You just need a reality check. You hold all these scouts, highlight reels, random internet blogs, and mock drafts like they're the word of God himself, and it's a bit ridiculous. If these people were right all of the time, guys like Dion Waiters, Nik Stauskas, Trey Burke, Thomas Robinson, Terrence Ross, Austin Rivers, etc. etc. etc. etc. wouldn't be who they are in the NBA despite being top lottery picks.

I think Ive cooled off on Murray. I love him but his defense looks to be atrocious at the next level.

Gambo said some really interesting things today about the Suns. The first thing he said was that the Suns are absolutely open to trading the pick and would be willing to trade down to the 7, 8, 9, or 10 slot if they can get back a good young veteran player plus the pick in return for their own pick. Now assuming the Suns keep the pick, he said the Suns are narrowing down their choices and he believes they will choose between Bender and Jamal Murray. The really shocking thing he said was that the Suns are also now considering Buddy Hield because Booker has actually grown since they drafted him and he is now 6'7" in shoes. So the Suns think they could have Booker play some small forward alongside Hield and Bledsoe in the backcourt. He mentioned the Suns are looking at picking their power forward with the 13th pick and want to pick a guard/wing player with the 4th pick unless it is Bender who they take. Also, Bender and Murray are supposed to work out for the Suns next week.

I'm fine with this if Bender is gone which he won't be because Boston either takes Murray for themselves or Murray/Dunn for the Sixers. I have no doubt that we we will have the opportunity to pick Bender.

Yea. Murray isn't a two-way player, it'd be nice to finally draft one for the first time in forever.
