That sounds like an old quote from when he was a broadcaster.

I knew it was, no coach/gm would say that publicly about a player they have to compete against. Still a harsh quote.

Harsh but accurate. LeBron's shooting stroke has never improved from his rookie season until now. All of his outside shots are insanely flat. He gets on hot streaks, but he's never had a natural looking offensive game.

Klove and kyrie were known to put up empty stats and never got their teams into the playoffs.

LBJ, being a much better player, does the exact same thing, but does it in the Finals.

He focuses on stats more than winning. Kyrie and Lebron spent the last minute running into easy, open layups and then proceeding to foul Curry/Klay a few seconds later to even out 2s. Instead of chucking 3s to make some ground, they went for easy points. As long as you get those boxscore wins though.

This post is completely ridiculous. Instead of chucking 3's they went for easy baskets? So now going for easy baskets when you're down the last few minutes is stat padding? Easy, high percentage shots are what every team wants in the last few minutes, not chucking 3's.

He's talking abt last minute, where lebron is trading easy layups (cuz dubs don't even guard him) for curry's free throws. That's 2 for 2 while trailing by 10. That's ultimate stat padding

What kind of nonsense logic is this? How is hitting easy lay ups and then proceeding to foul 2 of the best FT shooters in the league what the team needs? So the team needs to be going 2 for 2 being 9 points behind for every possession. But maybe you have a math equation where layups somehow give you more than 2 points and shooting 2 FTs equates to 1 or 0 points when you have the best FT shooter in the league and one of the best doing it.

No he didn't?

He said his points were in garbage time? He never said Lebron was stat padding.

That's just flat-out not true. He worked on his jumper constantly with Chris Jent during his first Cleveland era (to the point that he brought him on vacations with him to get in shooting sessions). Go look at his percentages on mid-range and long-distance shots and you'll see they improve steadily from year-to-year up to his prime. His 3pt % was up to 40% in Miami (from 29% his rookie year). He made lots of improvements to his form - the two most obvious being squaring his feet/shoulders and straightening his upper body rather than leaning back.

Now that said, his jumper has clearly regressed since he returned to Cleveland. There's some debate as to why that is. One obvious reason is that his habit of leaning back has returned. A common theory is the mileage has taken some of the lift out of his legs and he's compensating with more upper body involvement.

Regardless, it's just not true that his jumper never improved. Watch some games from early in his career, then watch games from 2012-2014. The difference is night and day.

I think that Kyrie is a great player, but if Chris Paul was on this team the ISO would disappear. He'd make all the other players better. I don't see how that trade can happen though. Chris Paul is much more in demand than Kyrie (even if you take the age into account), because of his tremendous skillset. And Cleveland, unfortunately, doesn't have enough resources. The first pick they can trade is 2020.

I can't believe we have to sit through the same terrible narrative again. A player on the losing team has no business winning the finals MVP.

Lebron's stat padding in endgame is disgusting. His team needed a 3, but he took all the 2 points given to him.
