Should Harden play for the 2016 Olympic Team?

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Tue Jun 7, 2016 3:17 pm

He has a background playing for the National team. He is one of the best players in the League and the last time it seemed to help him being exposed to coaches like Thibs.

On the other hand, he'll be running the MDA offense and will likely be the Rockets primary player. Do you want him to risk injury or exhaustion? Should he rest up during that time?

Do you think that Harden should play for the National Team, or take a cue from Curry and withdraw his name from consideration?

Harden was most focused after his captaincy two summers ago and it carried into the season... we need more of that magic, Harden better be there.

With the way this season went Harden probably won't make the cut.

Last time he played under coach K Harden came back in amazing shape and was the best player in the league that season. He carried us to the second seed in the west with 56 wins and 42 of those games were without Dwight..

injury seems never related to Harden. So he should go. National team experience really helped him.

I'm more concerned about him getting the Zika Virus than getting hurt. Dude is a tank, he never gets hurt. *knocks on wood*

Pointless thread now.

Harden has withdrawn from the team. My initial reaction is disappointment.

Maybe he's going to focus on the upcoming Rockets season?

I was sad too. He said it was talks with the Rockets and his family that convinced him not to go

yes very disappointed but safety is a big concern in Brazil now
believe he and Durant/Westbrook all talked over it and all decided not to play

Between zika and how incredibly dangerous Brazil is now I don't know why anyone would go to the olympics this year

I was the one who voted no for him and d-mo and its all because of those 2 factors

One of my more twisted coworkers goes holy **** this is crazy then continued to show me a video of some brazilians shooting a kid that had to have been 14 tops in the head for stealing a piece of fruit

Even Brazilian legends are telling people to avoid it...STAY AWAY ROCKETS

ZOMG, what an unpatriotic bastard. I guess he'll be hitting up the clubs in LA instead. This would have been the perfect opportunity to work on his defense.

Harden is never quick on this lateral movement
he isn't going to improve his one-on-one defense
what he and rest of them need to do is work on their team defense

Return to Houston Rockets
