R.I.P. Brooks Thompson

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Fri Jun 10, 2016 8:15 pm

This is such a shock.

Former Magic Player Brooks Thompson has passed away.

Brooks Thompson gave us a lot of memories while he was with The Magic.

I remember the "We Want Brooks" chants in the final minutes of all of those blowout home games.

He had a few games where he lit it up too and gave us older folks some wonderful memories.

My condolences to you and your family Brooks.

Thank you for the memories.

Thompson had been diagnosed with double organ failure in April and had been in and out of the hospital for the past two months, according to Tulsa World.

:(

Very sad.

Thompson was part of the '95 Finals and '96 ECF rosters.

Wow - That is so sad to hear. I remember him so well attending games as a relatively new Orlando resident and growing Magic Fan. I remember him dropping 20 on Detroit that we won back in 95/96 I believe. I had the opportunity to go to a came and I remember all of the fans chanting for him. He was that young guy, a year or 2 in the league that all of the fans wanted to see play and when he showed some potential we all loved it...seeing him be successful on a team of superstars.

He will be missed and I'll never forget those moments.

I'm also disappointed at the Plaza live, they had no pat downs or metal detectors at their entrance. Hopefully they now step up their security there.
