The post about that guy who met Spencer Hawes, and another about meeting Grevis Vasquez (may have been fake? not sure honestly) are both pretty funny.

Also the poster that is basically a running Magic Johnson meme is pretty hilarious.

Of the recent ones, there's this one Lakers fan who basically wrote a goddamn thesis about his memoirs of Kobe Bryant in one of those Kobe Bryant appreciation threads. It was a nice post, but someone responded with "Did not read" gif file. I almost died that night.

I also thought this one was funny (From 'MS Paint-A-Wiretap'):

LilOjMayo's various post on OJ Mayo... Like his facial hair was pretty damn hilarious... "Rich in texture" as he described it

Then his disappointment/abandonment thread when he realized he wasn't going to live up to the hype.

A Magic fan when they said they weren't gay "but would want to see how Dwight Howard would feel like" randomly in a gamethread.

Paul George's Ascension...

its not a surprise to me that realgm has kobe rated so low. i expect it due to his fans being driven away from here due to allot of them coming across as trolls. in the sports universe theres always been a divide. you're either on lebrons side or against it. same with kobe. and when one faction dominates the moderating it becomes tough for both factions to get along. so one side is usually pushed into a corner until they give up.

as for kobes ranking. i think its more than evident that world wide the average fan has him top 10.

http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/the-top-nba-players-of-all-time

this ongoing poll has lebron being the one outside the top 10. and kobe inside it. its a more fair and balanced vote due to everyone being able to participate without worrying about their voice not being heard.

i was a part of another forum with former espn members called angergeneral and they also had kobe in their top 10 at #9, lebron at #11

and i believe on ISH kobe was top 10 at #8 and lebron was #11 again

but lastly. in all honesty. kobes resume is only topped by a few guys. its hard to argue with

nba record all time guard scoring leader ( 33K )
5 nba titles
5 for 7 finals record
2 time olympic gold medalist
2 nba finals mvps
1 season mvp
nba record 11 first team all nba's
nba record 9 first team all defense
nba record 18 consecutive allstar starts
nba record 4 allstar game mvps
nba record 24 teams with 50+ wins eliminated
2nd all time in 60+ and 30+ point games
3rd all time in 40+ and 50+ point games
2nd all time single game scoring record ( 81 )
nba record outscoring a team by himself ( 62-61 )
career high 35+ppg
25/5/5 career average
3rd all time in playoff scoring
4 consecutive 50+ games
nba record 12 threes in one game
nba record most seasons played with one franchise
nba record only player with 30k points and 6k assists

then topping it all off with 60+ points and the game winning shot in his very last nba game

i mean.. if you wanna disagree with all this and say the realgm list with kevin garnett ahead of kobe bryant is a fair, honest and unbiased vote. then go right ahead.

i'm just saying i found it hilariously bad. but we're all entitled to our own opinion

i for one don't care for this subject anymore. its been beaten to death for the last 20 years. i'd rather leave it up to future generations that aren't so butthurt by everything

for me personally though. i rank kobe around 6-7th all time

#1 Jordan
#2 Kareem
#3 Bill
#4 Magic
#5 Wilt
#6 Kobe/Duncan ( interchangeable )

#8 Bird/Shaq ( interchangeable )

#10 Hakeem/Lebron ( interchangeable )

Using Ranker.com as justification for anything definitely keep within the theme of this thread.

you act as if literally every other fan poll doesn't have kobe in its top 10. and ranker is just as legitimate as any other meaningless fan vote

i sighted angergeneral and insidehoops aswell. would you like me to list more?

ok

heres a sportsnation vote with kobe 8th
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/11090247/all-nba-players

all i'm saying is kobe is in every other top 10 i've seen for the most part

Dude, stop trying to hijack the thread with your Kobe-head rhetoric; you're not going to change anyone's mind and nobody's going to put Kobe in their top 10s because of your silly arguments. Give it up and let this thread be what it's supposed to be.

It s already been mentioned in this page but the guy with the Greivis Vasquez story(i think it was on the Raps board) was hillarious. He also had one about Spencer Hawes and how his brother ended up sending him a pic of his genitals

Also i remember this thread again from a Toronto guy whose gf supposedly gave Jalen Rose her phone number and Rose was calling her in the middle of the night or something and he was asking for advice. This could all be the same guy for all i know

Took me a while to find this but this post from DoubleLintendre in the "Is Carmelo a ballstopper" thread is an absolute classic.

http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=37297146#p37297146
Spoiler:
DoubleLintendre wrote:Yes, Melo is no ball stopper. In fact I consider him a "ball facilitator", because every time he lets the ball go for a shot, somebody else might be able to get their turn with the ball off the rebound.

It really opens up ball movement and is conductive in adding to team rebounding while establishing important player roles on the Knicks. Not many players "move the ball" like Melo so consistently. You know that either he'll sink his shot or somebody else on the team will have opportunities to grab the rebound and either score for themselves or pass it to Melo again.

You can't help your team if you don't take care of your own shot first. Melo always looks to get himself involved first and thereby establishes the shooting hierarchy. He's actually alot like America. When the 1 percent is taking care of itself, money and new opportunities trickle down to the rest of the population. It's a slow but sure process where when a small group (or person) does well-- everyone else will eventually too.

Imagine a game where everyone gets the same percentage of touches. Now what kind of government would that be? Sounds a little like communism.

You just have to understand the process. Melo gets the ball from his hands and into the basket, with the misses going straight to the people. His teammates.

In this regard Melo is a true ball facilitator and is, unintentionally.. a true American.

Myth, no more.

Ball movement = communism so OKC's hero ball is the true american way :usa:
