Compelling arguement. I can certainly see the reason now that the Celtics should give up a top 5 draft pick and 20 million of their cap space for Brook Lopez, leader of the greatest 20 win team in history.

Crowder, Thad Young, and 16 to Clippers
23 and Amir to Nets
Griffin to Celtics

Doc can use 16 to trade for a vet, maybe Boris Diaw from Spurs who would want to clear cap for Conley or whoever. They also want to move up the 1st round.

Nets get a sought-after 1st rounder and more cap space to use on C-level players.

We get to keep the 3rd pick because I said so. Durant then signs with Celtics of course to replace Jae as starting SF. Durant makes everything right lol. You see this is why we're reportedly enamored with Brown. He'll be the backup combo forward in training. It ALL makes sense now.

Wow this could be huge. 2017 draft has really huge potential IMO. Lots of top rated guys with good size/skill/tool set combos. Thing I like about it is these guys just fit the mold of what is in demand right now - athletic two-way wings, PGs with size that can play D, really athletic bigs with good size who can guard inside and out, big skilled forwards etc etc.

https://capstrategist.com/draft/2017-draft/nike-hoop-summit-team-usa-rankings/

This doesn't even include internationals or guys like Dennis Smith, who was the top rated PG before a recent injury.

Wonder how high Brooklyn could get in this draft by trading Lopez or Young.. Sounds more like they have a non-guaranteed contract in Jarret Jack and they're going to take on some salary to get a first-rounder. Smart move..

Yeah saw a guy mention that type of move, taking on bad salary with the Jack contract. I'd think the value of that would have gone way down since tons of teams could be in the bidding with all of the cap space.

Thad Young to Indiana for #20 makes sense.

It won't if they're trading Paul George to the Celtics lol.

Nets Working To Trade Thaddeus Young For First Rounder
JUN 23, 2016 9:47 AM

The Brooklyn Nets have been working to trade Thaddeus Young to the highest bidder.

The Nets will get into the first round via the trade.

Several Western Conference teams have been aggressive on dealing for Young.

Amazing news...this signals that they are prioritizing building for the future over wins next season. If they pull off this trade they are CEMENTING themselves as a bottom three team next year.

Brooklyn has traded forward Thad Young to the Indiana Pacers for the 20th pick and a future 2nd rounder, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Smart trade for Indy.

Wouldn't get too excited about it for BK just yet. Thad was really solid for them, but PF is one of the easier positions to fill in the league.

I was wondering if Danny would trade #16 for Thad Young? I guess it is too late.

If the Indy deal is true, good trade for Indy (and Boston).

I am starting to wonder if BKN has promises from a couple players that they will sign as free agents. It is about the only thing that makes sense.

Michael Scotto: Sources: In addition to the Knicks, the Nets also have interest in free agent Joakim Noah. He attended Brooklyn’s Poly Prep HS for two years 20 hours ago – via Twitter MikeAScotto

It's not getting mentioned here, but the Clippers have their second rounder. I wouldn't be surprised if they strike out in free agency at this point. If they trade Lopez too, they could go down as one of the worst teams ever.
