LeBron is hogging the ball and hurting the Cavs' offense.

To an extent this is true - if he's not moving the ball he's hurting their effectiveness to his own raw stat benefit. Clearly a trend of his throughout his career, and the most frustrating part of watching him.

Credit where credit is due for stats like RPG and SPG though.

I feel like both of those stats can be considered empty stats for every other player though. Curry lead the league in steals this year, what do we hear, doesn't mean anything, doesn't mean he's playing good D, means he just gambles a lot defensively, anD Kyrie is leading in SPG but his play has been heavily scrutinized . And up until Love missed the game guess what he was leading the Cavs in rebounds for the playoffs. But people didn't care, still said he was playing soft and like crap. But when Lebron leads in RPG it's cause he's showing toughness and how great of a rebounder he is. And if he leads in SPG it shows how great he's playing on D. Now I'm not saying you're saying these things, just this is usually how it gets spinned. Now a days with advance stats people usually don't pay much attention to raw numbers because of how easily a player can pad stats without helping their teams.

I feel like Lebron prior to his first championship was one of the most heavily over scrutinized players ever by the media. Once he won, he has received a bigger pass than anyone I can recall. Any other star putting up big time stats and continually losing in the finals would almost certainly get the, he's just putting up empty stats that don't help his team win in the biggest games narrative, not the wow look how great he is, he just needs more help narrative

Here we go again. No Lebron should not nor will not win Finals MVP if the Cavs lose. Get the hell over it already jeez. If he loses than it's his own fault as leader of the squad for not bringing home the trophy yet again.

Lebron has established a pattern of marginalizing his teammates in order to boost his own stats. He's done it his whole career and I've always called him out on it. If it doesn't work, he can just claim his teammates didn't do enough and he needs more help.

LeBron's supposed greatness is a myth perpetuated by his overly high MPG, stat padding, ESPN, and social media band-wagoners who don't actually watch the games but rather rely on box score statistics. From refusing to take end-of-quarter hail mary's (most prominently in his Miami days) to protect his FG%, to dominating possessions to the point of making his teammates nothing more than jumpshooters and stagnating the offense, LeBron's never been the player people see him as.

As he gets older, he will never be able to win a championship as a supporting piece the way Duncan has in his twilight years. He's unable to play as part of an offensive system and structure. Instead, his ball dominance makes HIM the system. His lack of a consistent shooting touch and refusal to concede control to an intelligent coach like Blatt, will only further expose him as his ability to dominate games diminishes

As a Heat fan, i effin hate this..... sometimes % doesn't really relates to win....

Regarding Lebron - it always make me wonder how well will he fit in a Popovich coached team....

Not so much crime as sad and pathetic how some people spend so much energy on spreading baseless hate and lies about someone who made it despite a poor background, never harmed anyone and has done a lot of good things for many people (for one of which he got more hate than Bush got for killing 100.000s of innocent people).
The last few days the opinion du jour they are telling each other forth and back dozens of times in multiple threads is apparently that LeBron is an empty stats guy and makes his team worse - never mind that he had the best impact stats this year, even more so in the postseason and is in the finals with a team that was close to worst in the league with him off the floor.
I understand you guys must be really excited to have come up with something even more nonsensical than the usual drivel, but by now everyone has read variations of that "opinion" a few dozen times and it's starting to get old.

If this is the player we had seen more often in his career I believe LeBron would be a 4x NBA champion right now, recognized as the 2nd greatest player ever. And its not just that he had the jumper, but his raw aggression and the mentality to completely put his team on his back in these games and take fate into his own hands.

To this day the 48 point game is the greatest performance i've ever watched live.

Versatility is great and all, but it's not the "be all end all" measure of a basketball player. If Curry has another huge game today and the Warriors win, give him the finals MVP award, regardless of hat Lebron does during the game (okay, if he has a 65/20/15 game, give him instead).

Yeah, Lebron fans act like he is the only sports star to get criticism. Anybody remember Darryl Strawberry and how he used to get mocked. Muhammed Ali was hated and he actually got death threats. People criticized Iverson, Jordan, Kobe, Barkley.

What gets old is hearing this guys stats all the time and that's it...its just stats, I can't remember the last time a city had a celebration for one players stats, the president never invited one player to the white house for stats. This is the first era that I can remember where a group of people want to elevate individual stats over winning, I cannot understand that logic. The only reason Lebron fans pump up stats is because he is not winning, if the Cavs were winning this series you best believe they would be talking about how his stats lead to his teams winning games......
