It's not a smoke screen, why would you need a smoke screen to ensure Simmons or Ingram fall?

It's simply due diligence, not that complicated.

It's amusing to see how some people can manage to complicate the easiest decision in this draft.

Marquese Chriss may very well go #2, and as a Celtics fan, I may not like that. Watch and see.

Are you going to be pissed if Ainge doesn't pick Chriss at #3?

Yall expect to believe that the lakers are REALLY considering other options at no.2? Its called "smoke screens" to ensure that either ben or ingram fall.

You also can't just come out and promise someone you're going to take them. It would'nt be professional. It's due diligence.

Trust me, this is a top 2-man draft and no one outside these 2 will make a surprise jump. This wasnt a top 3 towns, dlo, ok4 like last year.

Last year was a top 2 draft as well, no one had Russell to the Lakers till the day of the draft.

Peer pressure. They're quite hostile when I post anything pro-simmons. LOL

But honestly, I kind of backtracked and remind myself our goal of finding the next star rather than finding the player who's likely to have high RPM short term (fits the modern way the game is played; favors shooting + rim protection).

Currently, we are betting on Simmons, Biid and Jah. They has shown some traits of dominance (atleast 10+BPM in college). Their development should be about evolving them into modern players by focusing on shooting and team defense. Pretty much same route as what stars had to go through in adjusting the college game to the Nba. That is much easier than asking a regular long athletic shooter to be a star.

Aren't they trying to unload Okafor?

That's what the rumor mill is saying. Personally, I'm not buying into it unless we can get a fair value in return. Still a lot of uncertainty around Simmons and Embiid, it's not like we have Durant and Westbrook that we can trade a high talent player like Harden for loose change.

Lakers has no use for Chriss LOL. It's quite a reach IMO.

It's most likely Ingram or they'd trade down and get themselves into a favorable deal.

Steep talent drop off after first two draft picks. There is your answer. If we do not want Simmons, we can always trade down.

Simmons by default. It should be a pretty obvious pick

Mind you i think if this is the case we would be more open to trades (hope not, would love to see him develop, get Kobe working on his jump shot and any ethic issues that apparently have arisen will be out the door when the Mamba is in town).

Still think the Lakers are undecided, if they stay at #2: Ingram (they seem to be leaning away from him), Brown, and Hield (how good would a Russell/Hield back court be??) will be considered, but they may trade down....

Mitch disagreed with you in a recent twc interview. He said the top three are pretty even, that the talent drop off happens after that. I assume he includes Bender in his top three.

Buddy seems like a uninspired Michael Jordan type of pick.

Buddy signed with Rob Pelinka, kobes old agent. Probably why Kobe was attending his college games. As a recruitment tool for Rob. Really can't see any other reason.

You mean MJ the GM/owner? Or the guy who was passed over in the draft MJ?
