Offseason Stuff: Robes/Adams, Name Your Price

Post#1 » by bondom34 » Tue Jun 14, 2016 4:09 pm

I'd say one of the biggest things to try to do this offseason is to work on contracts for the 2 biggest pending RFAs next year. I think at this point Adams is a lock to return, and Robes I'd certainly hope is as well, but you never know. The question now remains what are you willing to pay each of these two?

Personally, I'm around 10/year for Roberson and I think 20 for Adams. I'd be good with that I think.

Wing defense tends to get valued a whole lot less than offense when you look at contracts. I'm guessing Roberson doesn't go above $8mil.

Adams will get a lot, but I think he'll probably take $15mil. Could be wrong. But unless he signs an offer sheet and puts them over a barrel, I don't see the contract being that big. He doesn't strike me as a guy who's going to squeeze Presti.

Man I'd love 15 for Adams.

Adams won't sing a different offer sheet. He's not Kanter.

Adams should get twenty or twenty two. Roberson 10 to 12.

Adams will get a max or as close to it as he wants. Roberson will get $6-8M. Keep in mind that Thabo only got $4M/yr from Atlanta. Unless Roberson takes a huge jump with his 3pt shot this year he's not going to get a Danny Green, $10M/yr, deal. I would definitely like to see them resign Roberson this off-season just to get him locked in before he takes another step forward in his shooting and has a chance to get a $10-15M offer sheet from another team.

Yeah, agreed. If I'm Presti my top priority in the next couple of months is making sure that Stevie and Robes never make it to free agency.

This is the new salary cap paradigm. They are saying the average starter will get 12 a year. Roberson could easily get ten to twelve with as impactful as he is and still improving.

8-10 Robes

I think Steven will take a Kanter matching contract and we keep both.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

First Robes - I expect robes will be in the 8/9 range but I do not think he will agree to an extension and will look for an improved offensive game next year to up his value.

Adams may well wait to see what KD and Russ do. In his shoes I would take a lessor amount if KD and Russ stay long term but if its a break up then he should go for the max

I'd be absolutely shocked If Adams gets a penny less than the max. I mean it's possible he gives you guys a discount but it's pretty clear he'll have several max offers out there when he becomes a free agent
