But who of them do you see as a two-way player after one year in the NBA?

Chriss' and Murray's defense is even more suspicious than Okafor's and Dunn and Brown offense...well simply aren't in the same camp of Jah.
You can have some hopes for Bender, but nothing is guarantee.

Dunn is the two-way. Brown (needs offense and defense but has potential for two-way) Chriss (same as Brown, with a little more sound offense because he can shoot) Bender (spot up shooter for 3 and some Boris Diawesqe). Murray pure offense will make up for his defense more than Okafor (I think). But none are guaranteed.

Okafor was commanding a double team in his first NBA game. And Murray will be better on offense?

Didn't say that. I said Murray offense will make up for his defense more than Okafor, why? Because Okafor cannot guard outside of the paint. Okafor cannot help on the perimeter and the NBA is mainly perimeter now. If you can't guard the perimeter you will get killed in every fashion. 10-15 years ago it was about guarding the paint, that's why Okafor is expendable instead of Noel. Noel can switch and guard just about anyone on the perimeter and you can have four other guys focused on scoring. How does Tristan Thompson stay on the court for Cleveland? Thompson is sooooo horrible on offense.

But I still love the guy's game. You just have to accommodate him on defense more than Murray who I believe will be very adequate on D. Will he be able to guard Kyrie or Steph, no, but who can?

I think the real question is what about Brown at 3 with Simmons.

All these leaks about us loving Dunn are smokescreens. BC loves Bender and is pumping out more smoke by not even working him out.

I WANT TO BELIEVE.

I honestly think it's Brown that they want. BC will want an established vet PG.

The point is obvious: if KAT were on our team last year, he still would've put up brilliant numbers and been an obviously better player.

Wrong. His numbers would look a lot worse if he was with us last year playing with 2nd rounders, UDFA's, and D-leaguers, so people wouldn't be as high on him.

Conversely Okafor would have looked a lot better if he was on Minnesota playing with legitimate NBA talent around him.

Considering 66.7% of his FG's were assisted and the PG play we received last season. I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

That would surprise me.

If we get another pick and they really think that he is the best prospect on the board, then fine, but I think he is in the same tier as Murray, Dunn, Bender, and Hield, and he isn't as good a fit as a few of them.

Vet PG
Vet SG
Covington/Brown
Simmons/Saric/grant
Noel/embiid/holmes

Though I think one of Covington, grant, or Saric would be moved for one of the starters in the backcourt.

I don't think he's after Brown. Brown is really raw and I think Colangelo wants immediate impact. I do believe Colangelo is throwing out smoke screens, so Boston and Phoenix can't zero in on who they want. He probably would prefer not to deal with Boston and wants to make sure they don't select who he wants, so they can't force him into a deal.

I'm still in favor of Kris Dunn if we trade Okafor.

However, I'm warming to Buddy Hield. A big reason is positional scarcity at the SG position. I don't know of any top SG prospects in next year's stacked draft. Plus it seems to be the thinnest position in the NBA as of now. There is a glut of PG's and Bigs, and even at SF you at least have a stacked draft class in 2017. Some of those guys may be able to play SG also, but I think they're best suited for SF.

Of course, we would need to be confident that Hield's game would translate. For example, if he could become a better defending J.J. Redick (career 40% 3P% and 60% TS%), that would be a pretty valuable player. I don't see why he couldn't. He has 7 more inches of wingspan than Redick does, a 3 inch higher standing reach, and appears to have more athleticism and better handles.

His shooting could really open up the floor for Embiid and Simmons to attack the basket. Defenders absolutely will not be able to leave Hield outside the 3 point line. Having him and Covington/Saric at the wings would aid our spacing tremendously.

I prefer Hield to Jamal Murray because he has better physical attributes (height, wingspan, reach) and because of that, the ability to be a better defender. I think you'll have to hide Murray on defense. I get that Hield is 3 years older, but that might be to our advantage since he could be more ready to contribute right away.

Murray will only be able to maximize his value if he learns to play PG. Without learning to play PG he's going to run into the same problem that Fredette/Redick had. I'd be afraid to draft him if I were a GM.

I'm just hoping Boston gives us the 3rd pick and doesn't trade the 3rd pick for Jimmy Butler. The Bulls supposedly love Dunn. He's the only player I have any interest in, outside of the top 2. The rest of them, I'd rather throw Okafor on the bench, than trade for them.

Of course he won't trade pick 3 for Okafor. Optimistic trade scenarios are all part of being a massive homer.

Dunn. He's a good catch and shoot player. That's a important fact to have in mind when pairing him with Simmons. The reducing of his usage will make a lot more effective. As a defender, as a shooter, as a playmaker and as a cutter. I believe he really can be an elite defender and good all around player in other areas.
