Brother of Hawks' Bembry shot and killed in North Carolina"Adrian was a unique soul," Essence said in a text message. "He lost his life breaking up a fight. Always a peacemaker."
DeAndre' and Adrian, 20, grew up in Charlotte before moving to New Jersey when they were in high school. They had family still in Charlotte. Adrian was going to school at North Carolina Central in Durham, N.C.
"I've been told there was a gathering to watch the NBA game (Game 4 of the Finals Friday night)," Martelli said. "He was going to come up with his mother in Jersey. He was down there planning the draft night party."Martelli spoke to Essence and DeAndre' Sunday morning as they were waiting to fly to Charlotte.
"I just talked to DeAndre' and he's awful, just awful," Martelli said.
DeAndre' Bembry had been getting ready for what was going to be a great week in his life and that of his family. The NBA draft will happen now after the worst week in all their lives.

Russo knows whats up with Luwawu.
Celtics moving the #3.
I like the Dunn Kid.
Not making any more suggestions after that. Just saying.

Re: NBA Draft
To be honest, I like Luwawu but I'm wary of how his game will translate cause from what I've seen, he's been good mostly by using his athleticism in a league where most players are not very athletic. I'm all for getting a 3&D project in this team, but I'm not even sure if the D part can translate here. I doubt he lasts past the lottery though, so it's a moot point.
Dunn might become a good player, but you're not getting the Celtics pick unless you move Blake. And he's not THAT good.

Re: NBA Draft
So what's the situation with Onuaku? he had what was described as "minor heart surgery" about a month ago, after NBA doctors discovered something wrong with his heart at the combine, but he's keeping his name in the draft apparently. He's a guy I really liked, a dude that could develop into a good defensive anchor at C, and a guy I'll always like cause he has the balls to shoot free throws granny style. Any clue if the heart thing impacts his long term health? I'd love to get him with the Brooklyn pick, or maybe buy a pick at the end of the 2nd round if he's projected to fall because of all that.

Re: NBA Draft
Doesn't Malcolm Brogdon seem like the type of guy Doc Rivers would pick? Upperclassman known for IQ and defense.
He is 6'6" with 6'11" wingspan (almost same as Brendan Dawson but a #2 instead of #3/#4.) He's not fast, but looks strong and rangy. I think he would be okay defensively with that wingspan if he has high IQ and moves efficiently. He's improved his shooting in college, and probably could improve more in the NBA.
I don't mind that he's a senior in that his skills and maturity seem to reflect his age, with our 33 pick I would be good with him. He could be CJ Wilcox 2.0, but I feel his physicality is better and could earn a spot on a second unit.

Re: NBA Draft
Zhou Qi is really intriguing to me, I would pick him for sure at #33 as long as he is actually close to his listed age. But not with our first pick since we probably want a near-term contributor.
He seems to have a better feel for the game, a lot of tall Chinese prospects seem very mechanical the way they play and approach the game (which probably has a lot to do with how the game is coached in China.)
As a pick to slowly develop, put on some weight, etc. I'd like to see that. We could have our own Chinese Porzingis (poor man's.)

I do like his mobility.
