despite all the workouts for the other prospects, i still think it's between simmons and ingram. i'd personally prefer the latter but i'd be happy either way. like someone mentioned, i think it's just the Lakers trying to prepare for all scenarios including trading down.

Hi All,

If Simmons falls to the Lakers at #2 (which potentially could happen)
Does that make Randle getting traded make sense

Randle+#32+future stock vs lets say a #6,#7,#8 (Draft Buddy,Dunn)

PG : Dunn (DLO if Dunn is gone)/Clarkson(resign for 10-12mill)
SG : Buddy (DLO if Buddy is gone)/Lou
SF : FA (Harrison Barnes, Chandler Parsons/Luol Deng)/Brown
PF : Simmons/Nance
C : Horford/Black

Also seen alot of reports that DLO could be gone because of his immature self
I only see him gone if the Lakers drafted Ingram

PG : Kris Dunn
SG : DD
SF : Ingram
PF : Randle
C : Horford/Whiteside

I would love to see Thon Maker drop to #32 pick him up but i doubt he falls that far.

If we break it down into a best/worst case scenario kind of thing, this is my take:

Ben Simmons
Best case: LeBron James
Average case: Lamar Odom
Worst case: Boris Diaw

Brandon Ingram
Best case: Kevin Durant
Average case: Tayshaun Prince
Worst case: Harrison Barnes

Buddy Hield
Best case: Ray Allen
Average case: CJ McCollum/Ben Gordon
Worst case: Jodie Meeks

Dragan Bender
Best case: Kristaps Porzingis
Average case: Mix of Nikola Mirotic and Donatas Motiejunas
Worst case: Nikoloz Tskitishvili

Kris Dunn
Best case: John Wall
Average case: Mix of Eric Bledsoe and Jeff Teague
Worst case: Jordan Clarkson

I actually think Buddy Hield is one of the best players in this Draft and will be a terrific scorer and player.

But is he worth the number two pick? Don´t think so.

So it's Ingram or Hield....

That Buddy interview was really good as well

With all that, I still want Ingram

Oh we're not taking anyone over Ingram or Simmons, you don't need to worry about that.

The draft would've been a lot more interesting if we ended up with the 3rd pick.

IDK I just feel Lakers are high on Hield cause of that Kobe connection lol

But yes, I still do think we are going to end up with Ingram, too much he can bring to the table not only offensively but on the defense side of the floor to pass up on him.

I don't see Philly passing on Simmons and all rumors have them really high on his potential. Ingram is the better fit anyway and he seems to be a hard worker with great mentality, add to that he's the youngest player in the draft with the type of length that is extremely rare with a 2 way game and great shooting I am on that INGRAM HYPE!!!

I am, too. Just can't see us going wrong with either of the two.

According to the Sports Science video, Ingram is 6'9 with a 7'3.25 wingspan and a 9'1.5 standing reach. For comparisons sake, Durant was listed at 6'10.25 with a 7'4.25 wingspan and a 9'2 standing reach at the 2007 Pre-Draft camp.

The Lakers have worked out the top lottery talent in Ingram, Hield, Jaylen Brown, Skal, Marquise Chris, Ellenson, and Dragan Bender (I'm sure there's others). I know most people are saying the Lakers are doing their due dilligence, but has anyone stopped to wonder if the Lakers are trading down or trading for a top lottery pick?

I think the emergence of Larry Nance makes Randle a tradable asset. I know most people would argue and say Randle is an elite rebounder, but I think his rebounding stats might have been inflated because he played next to Hibbert. Hibbert only average 4.9 rebounds per game. I also think Nance fits the Draymond mold for Luke's system much better than Randle.

Furthermore, last year the Lakers only worked out D'Angelo, Porzingis, Okafor, Mudiay, and Cameron Payne for the 2nd pick. This year the Lakers are working out potential picks 2-10 even though this is supposed to be a "two man draft."

Mitch can't be that stupid to select a 6'3" SG with the #2 pick. Clarkson is our future SG unless a major star trade is done. If we selected Buddy, he would be coming off the bench in a Lou Will role.Don't tell me we might play him at SF because that would just be too funny. A 6'3" glorified JR Smith playing against KD. LOL

DO THE RIGHT THING. DRAFT THE 18 YEAR OLD KID MITCH. NOT SOME 22 YEAR OLD.

I think what Mitch is trying to do is to see if they can hold the 2nd pick draft Ingram and trade D'Lo out to a lotto team and draft Hield since they could be looking for a more athletic/shooter type wing. Plus some people are still bitter over what D'Lo did this season, which I think is very stupid for people to hold on to that type of stuff.

Hahah! I'm just desperate for this to all come to an end so we can start Summer League. I'm just speculating what all these rumors could mean. I HOPE that we don't send D'Lo packing, I want to see what this kid has.
