D'Angelo Russell for #4? Yes and no take backs. I thought his promise that he showed at the end of last year rivaled Booker's. Would consider adding in Knight if #4 alone wasn't enough if the Lakers are keen on DeRozan. He got into a really bad situation last year but I feel like he showed he can be a star.

Exactly. He was on an absolute s**t Lakers team during Kobe's "Farewell Tour".

Sure he didnt get a real high assist total, but remember Kobe was trying to say farewell night in and night out. To me, Russell is a Bledsoe type of guy, in being that he might give you close to 10 assists one night, and the next night pull off close to 10 rebounds, all coming from a player running the point. He has decent defense at the point due to his size, but if we could get someone to work on it a bit more with him, he could turn into a lockdown defender at the PG spot easy.

#4 for Russell. I'd do it.

That's a great point about him being on the back burner for a whole season. He also had an absolutely terrible coach running an archaic offense. In spite of that, he did very well for himself. He has a really unique game but also shot much better from 3 than people expected him to do (35%). I think it's a long shot but it's not something the Lakers laugh and hang up over.

Russell is better than anyone we could get at 4. I'd do that trade in an instant

People think they have a handle on this room increase. They don't. It's going to be insane. Knight and Chandler deals will look tame as f***.

really? .... Rich Paul is a mouthpiece. Lebron blows, he toots.

All of Bledsoe's reactions/efforts are what players are supposed to do. He has shown the desire to lead this team. That is good, but means nothing in the big pic. He is not squawking and Paul is not threatening, more so setting up possibilities. its good to see paul has a relationship with Sarver. Crazy how demonized he (RS) is from the outside... but a good businessman burns no bridges. The interconnecting dealings on the inside level are hard to imagine.

Of course I have nothing but this source #bighunch.byme, but it seems logical if the Cavs lose they will restructure that line up and give it one more try. I think regardless, Love goes. And if Love is for sale, it is right up McMullys wheel house/game plan to land a real star. Now, whether or not Love qualifies is debatable. But no doubt, the ear is to the ground. And the rumored Boston involvement just reeks of backrooming. Easy to connect dots, or at least create them.

If we were walk out of this with #3 AND #4 and a trimmed down minimum payroll... perhaps Sarver could overlook the chump change he get from a first round playoff appearance as NOT spending a fortune on salaries teeters the financial totter. Rebuilding relieves the pressure of win now. I see it as a win win to stock up with young talent, even tho our fan base is jones-ing for some post season excitement.

The count down speculation continues.... Let us proceed 8-)

Its just Rich Paul's way of telling the Suns not to draft a pg.

Love that theory. Agents play a huge role in the draft. Anyone who ignores their influence on the process does so at their own detriment.

Seriously the more i think about Russell for #4, the more i like it.

#4 for Russell
Bledsoe to SAC for #8 (Seriously, looking at the mocks and taking team needs into account, i could see one of Bender or Chriss falling to us at #8).

I don't see that happening, but I do like Russel/Booker/Warren/Ellenson/Chandler. In this case you keep Knight because you'll need that veteran 6th-man presence and his hot shooting can occasionally win you a game on its own. Then Len is the first big off the bench. Not a bad plan.

Both Bender and Chriss have limit their workouts to only select teams. I see teams like the Wolves and Pelicans as already being PF heavy and would think they would look more at guys like Dunn/Murray/Brown/Buddy. Denver is a big question mark as i honestly dont know what kind of player they would target. I mean they have Nurkic & Mudiay locked into the C & PG spots. Everything else seems kinda open, but they did just recently re-ink Faried and also have Gallo and Chandler on long term deals as well. They really really really are lacking in the SG department. Thats why i can see one of Bender/Chriss falling to #8.

I would trade #4 plus Knight. Russell is a very good a prospect. You assume Booker would be a good influence on him too. You just hope that the reverse doesn't happen.

I can promise you that McD does not want to take that risk. I would rather draft an injured Bender over trading for Russell.

I don't think Russell's risks are all that treacherous. He was young, stupid, and immature at 18. Doesn't mean he will be the same at 22.

And I must have missed the Bender news? What happened?
